Sheese, you know how many perverts would pretend to be blind? "Sorry Mamn, just checking to see if you were a cop!" - For the snowflakes: It is sarcasm and trying to be humorous. It is NOT a serious comment. If you don't like it, deal with it! I don't give a rats rear! I got better things to do in life than to pamper your feelings! Some of us use the internet for entertainment! Not to debate the proper way everyone should live their lives!

Ask the cop for their badge number and then call 911 and ask them, they will verify with the police department that the cop is genuine. You are well within your rights to do this and a genuine cop is not going to question it.

Interesting. I didn't realize the drinking age in the US was ever below 21. Wonder why they changed it from 18.
@mickeymouse12678
7 жыл бұрын
Daniel Cuadriello You know, I'd actually wager more that they raised it to try and keep alcohol out of high school. Considering most people turn 18 when they are still in high school, it would make it really easy for the rest of the high schoolers to get booze out of their 18 year old friends.
@micahgrauel8770
7 жыл бұрын
the reason that it was changed is because people found out that the human brain doesn't stop developing until 21.
@Omgitssoup
7 жыл бұрын
Ya, it was changed 33 years ago back in 1984. The idea back then and still today is that it a is good and effective way in reducing highway crashes. Multiple studies have concluded that increasing drinking age to 21 has resulted in a almost 20% decrease in traffic fatalities every year. And anyway even back in the 80's there where only 4 states where you where able to buy alcoholic beverages at the age of 18. Most other states had a 19, 20, and 21 age rule as well. The only reason why its not ratified is because its not really even a federal mandate or law. This is a state issue and the federal government has no grounds to tell what the drinking age should be in the US. The only reason why States will most likely not ever have a 18 year old drinking age again is because outlined in the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 it says any state that doesn't enact a minimum drinking age of 21 will lose up to 10% of all their funding for highway and transportation. EDIT: I want to point out that before the 26th Amendment passed there where only around 6 states that let you buy alcoholic beverages at the age of 18. Once the 26th Amendment passed pretty much all states lowered their drinking age. Then most states for some inexplicable reason from 1971 to 1980 changed their drinking age once more.
@dead_p1xl964
7 жыл бұрын
States can set the drinking age to whatever they would like within reason. Legally there's no reason it HAS to be 21, but the federal government will refuse to provide federal funding for highways or road maintenance to the state if they lower it. So it's reasonably possible you could get states to lower the drinking age if you can come up with a source for a couple billion dollars to replace the federal money.

Why do you think? "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!" Same reason the age of consent has been raised, drugs have been made illegal, etc. Just claim some danger is posed to kids and you can get any mush-minded simpleton to sign on.

Alcohol is healthy and beneficial to drink in moderate amounts.
@loganpockrus6882
7 жыл бұрын
+Mshojat That is absolutely false. Here is a quote from a study conducted by the CDC: "Although past studies have indicated that moderate alcohol consumption has protective health benefits (e.g., reducing risk of heart disease), recent studies show this may not be true. While some studies have found improved health outcomes among moderate drinkers, it’s impossible to conclude whether these improved outcomes are due to moderate alcohol consumption or other differences in behaviors or genetics between people who drink moderately and people who don’t." Source: www.cdc.gov/alcohol/fact-sheets/moderate-drinking.htm The assertion you just made is a lie rooted deep within the alcohol industry, which bears no significant evidence in its favor. On the contrary, your aforementioned assertion is continually being questioned and potentially being proven wrong by people who care more about individual lives than workers in the alcohol industry, who only care about your money.

+Carrey John "Trust me" isn't an argument. Studies have shown (like the one I linked to, conducted by the *CDC*) that claim is false. Do I care if you drink wine? No, I couldn't care less. It is just becoming harder and harder to "prove" that any alcohol in moderation is *healthy*. Of course, alcohol in moderation is better than drinking excessively, obviously. EDIT: I apologize if this post comes off as hostile, that is not my intention.

Hey Tommy.. I have a *QUESTION!* When you recollect a memory, do you look up and to the left or right? Body language experts say when people look right, they're telling the truth and left when lying.
