Can we all take a moment to appreciate how well Dal's voice actor is able to imitate how Janeway speaks? That takes genuine skill to pull off.

Especially since animation usually does the lazy thing and swaps voice actors.

Not that you are wrong, but there's a simply technique that makes this far easier. Have the original actor say the line, then the swapped actor copy it exactly the same. I first heard of Justice League Unlimited coming up with that technique and it works really well.

i hope because of this the federation establishes some new protocols like IDK changing all external running lights to purple if there is a reason a ship should not be hailed

Hell... someone with knowledge of history could just use the running lights to do a good old fashioned spotlight code by flashing the lights. You know... like how they communicated in Hunt for Red October between Red October and USS Dallas, and later the US Destroyer and Red October. Would probably be an absloute last resort with Federation tech, but... sometimes dumb, simple solutions work.

@@chrisjohnson1146 I remember watching a sci fi movie where literally had flashing light protocols on shifts for exactly that reason In the film itvwas a set pattern to warn a ship was a biohazard
