Season 4 Episode 6 "Whatever It Takes"
House is recruited by the CIA to help diagnose a deathly ill agent. The agent's case is spearheaded by Dr. Samira Terzi, who offers very little information on the agent's history or previous assignments. With limited information, House uses some unorthodox methods to try to determine a diagnosis in time to save his patient's life. Meanwhile, Foreman faces a huge uphill battle from the remaining fellowship candidates when they start questioning his judgment while arguing over the proper diagnosis of a female drag car racer who passes out after a race.

Actually this is representative of real medicine too. The doctor speaks to the patient and does a thorough exam, but they often rely on notes of subordinates as well. They will often have a working idea of the patient before talking to them, so they know what questions to ask - and often discover that something was overlooked. This is before any treatment starts, of course

@@Thelionpaladin plus what was the cause of the selenium poisoning? i may have misunderstood, but was it that he ate too many brazilian nuts? surely the agent he'd have mentioned such an event had it happened. Who would forget to say "oh, i ate a only brazilian nuts for weeks and weeks on end"?
@Aztesticals
2 жыл бұрын
@@ericaugust1501 nope. He could have assumed they were like peanuts and just snacked on a ton of them. You forget how much a guy like this moves every day. He is probably on a 3500+ cal diet. So eating half a lb of nuts a day wasn't even half his intake but would be enough to poison him. People in the mitary can eat up to 3500 cals a day and honestly this man probably is even more active and doing even more physical exertion so it may even be a 4500 cal diet. So enough nuts to poison him could have been his snack like how hikers eat like 10 granola bars a day he ate half to a lb of nuts a day. To you or I that would be gourging but to him it's tuesday

@@Aztesticals turns out you don't even need to eat as many as your high calorie theory made allowances for. i read up on brazilian nuts and selenium. it is insanely high. apparently eating 2 nuts is enough to hit the daily recommended and 1 ounce is enough to hit the bodies maximum upper tolerances of selenium toxicity. given how high the selenium toxicity of brazilian nuts are, i'm surprised there are not huge warning labels on a bag of brazilian nuts.

To be fair, House didn't make her do anything, but he sure as heck dangled the opportunity for a job on his team. She took the bait...only to realize that it's only an audition, not the starring role. And that too...that there are far more incisive, gifted candidates vying for the job.
This was the best show. Hugh Laurie was unforgeable when he walked into a (2 part) psychiatric hospital When this show ended, it was like watching the last MASH!!!!!!

UH you know him going to the psychiatric facility ISN'T the end of the show, right?
Love the modern day comparisons and line ups of House to Holmes🙌🏽 the wit, drug and alcohol abuse and the constant jokes and slams on Wilson/Watson
i love how house's voice change when he becomes worried, puzzled, or seriouse. I especially love angry house
For some reason, House tripping over himself to block the door because he was transfixed by her makes me giggle every time.
On the one hand, I want a reboot. But on the other hand, I would be part of the group saying I hate already without knowing a thing about it. I'm torn.

I want a reboot that starts with house finding out he had a kid that is exactly the same as him. And he mutters fuck before everything happens where his child trys to heal house and others.

Ive always wanted an extra episode. Its a few years later. House and Wilson are still together. And we get to see how the hospital is doing. How people are coping with those 2 gone.

8:45 is the best lmao the guy mad she flirts with House 😂😂
“I didn’t yell at you when I thought you were wrong” lol
these youtube snippets are so effective. got me back to re-watching episodes
Love that unceremonious ending. Yanking the elevator door open.
Hahaha, that lift exit scene it finished on
"what's to vomit I'm eating his lunch" -House m.d.
Any chance he's just overwhelmed with gratitude? Lol!😂😂

Guys, I agree with everybody about this premiere thing being silly, but I think the creator of this channel was just trying something new for a change, and Im pretty sure they understand now it was a mistake, so just cut 'em some slack for trying out some KZread feature. Still love this channel and its content.

One of my favorite House episodes ever.
Love that Wilson is in disbelief of House being at the CIA.
Did Cuddy ever find out that House was actually working for the C.I.A.?

Nope, if i recall Cuddy gave him 2 weeks clinic duty for being "honest" (where he made up a believable lie about where he went since she would never believe the truth) and gave Wilson 3 weeks since he was trying to convince her that he was actually at the CIA but had no proof.

As a brazilian, thank you doctor House for teaching others that Bolivia is not Brazil
I love that last scene where House gets stuck on the elevator door with the cane. It's like: " Ok, back to my painful existence. "
Brazilian here He actually spoke it very well
4:01 Inspector Gadget LOL
0:03 I love that Norm Macdonald turn 😂
Lmfao! Love how worried Wilson still is that they would have dug up his drunken arrest! Haha best supporting character ever
The competency of CIA is accurate in this clip..
I just watched this episode again. I could swear that the other doctor that the CIA invited for consultation correctly diagnosis the patient with the chestnut poison at the beginning of the episode. House gets the credit because he says "Brazil nuts" at the end...
@1LY4x8s96r
2 жыл бұрын
That is not the reason. The reason is because they are two different plants and can cause two different types of problems. Chestnut can be poisonous because of toxins. Castanhas do Pará (Brazil nuts) have no toxins, it contains high amount of Selenium witch is a mineral that can cause problems in higher doses. The poison and symptoms was caused by Selenium, not a toxin.

Ironic is that even tho the CIA hide the crucial details, House is the one that almost kills the patient.

A lot of really good actors in this episode.
Doctor Mike has got to see this! I could only imagine what he'd say about House's knowledge on chestnuts.
Diving in that elevator for one last roasting lol
09:24 And the actor almost lost his arm in that old elevator...
I was having a good laugh the old man making a bunch of speculations like he was in James Bond or something.
This show just premiered? Well it's looking great, can't wait for more episodes.
That struggle for the lift .. lol
One of the finest episode of House
