Agreed, we take away so much of their natural elegance and grace when we sit on them. I think that's the mark of a great rider: when his/her horse looks just as elegant when ridden (and here I don't include most dressage riders who use those nasty double bits, tie downs, spurs and whips to achieve a superficialy elegant look to a detriment of their horses)
The way they start swinging their heads around in excitement is adorable.

@@miintyxoinkI've never understood the 'you try it' or 'how would you feel' when comparing something that isn't human to human beings. They do not care. Horses are built to be able to handle a certain amount of weight and provided the load they're carrying is within that, and so long as they're handled with care, it doesn't hurt them, nor do many of them have a problem. Some horses do genuinely have an issue being ridden and they make it known. Most are content and some others even enjoy the experience, particularly if they have a bond with the rider.

Wanna know why animals do better with pregnancy vs humans? Animal fetus don't burrow into their body. The uterus & placenta function separate. They don't tap into moms resources like human babies. That's why animals moms stay pretty athletic and feeling good vs human moms that have a baby with a direct blood line into them, literally manipulating the body's functions.
