Agreed, we take away so much of their natural elegance and grace when we sit on them. I think that's the mark of a great rider: when his/her horse looks just as elegant when ridden (and here I don't include most dressage riders who use those nasty double bits, tie downs, spurs and whips to achieve a superficialy elegant look to a detriment of their horses)

At least thats been traditional horse and cattle breeding in the uk anyway. I guess i can't speak for this particular property. Be silly to do anything else with properties that size. @@miintyxoinkI've never understood the 'you try it' or 'how would you feel' when comparing something that isn't human to human beings. They do not care. Horses are built to be able to handle a certain amount of weight and provided the load they're carrying is within that, and so long as they're handled with care, it doesn't hurt them, nor do many of them have a problem. Some horses do genuinely have an issue being ridden and they make it known. Most are content and some others even enjoy the experience, particularly if they have a bond with the rider.

Wanna know why animals do better with pregnancy vs humans? Animal fetus don't burrow into their body. The uterus & placenta function separate. They don't tap into moms resources like human babies. That's why animals moms stay pretty athletic and feeling good vs human moms that have a baby with a direct blood line into them, literally manipulating the body's functions.

@@ozarklisa1199 LOL, I don't actually speak German, I just happen to know that one German word because of my background in ethology. But I also enjoy using funktionslust in a non-scientific way, on a person-by-person basis. Like whatever talent a person has, they're bound to feel really happy while they're doing it (well, assuming they got good at it because they wanted to, not because they were made to somehow, like parents forcing their kid to take violin lessons until they get good at it, or whatever, LOL).

I love horses, I did a delivery about a year ago near a small horse farm, all four of them came along the fence line while I delivered a package, I was worried I’d get in trouble but I couldn’t resist and just began petting their heads, next thing I knew I spent my lunch petting horses, best break ever

Proof you need a minimum of 3-4 acres in order to house 2 horses. They need to run….without halters or bridles. They need grassy areas to roll and shade for protection but most of all, they need space (to themselves) to be happy!!! Love seeing this. ❤ 🎉🎉😊❤ Excellent husbandry! They look really good.

@@AuthenticMage Not necessarily. There are places here where round pens are the "turn out". So called boarding facilities where they are in stalls and spend the day in pens where they can barely get into a trot. They are ridden in riding arenas. The only time they go anywhere is to shows. I'm talking about kids whose parents board horses for them. Way too many horses for the acreage so that's how they're kept. When I had horses, we had 8 horses and ponies on 30 acres. They did share with cattle though and weren't dependent on grass for food, it was, basically, supplemental. We fed hay and grain.
