This hits so differently now. Don't mind me, I'm gonna go cry in my blanket pile.

After watching Hollow Mind, this is so painful. All I can imagine is how Hunter's view on Belos has changed as he's learned the truth, and how he misses the "old Belos" so to speak.

also imagine if hunter gets pulled into the owl house and one day eda calls him 'little owlet' he just bursts out crying

I'm not sure which would be sadder imo.

I feel like, even after Hollow Minds and the finale, this can still work. You can still interpret it sort of as Hunter reflecting on his relationship with Belos and missing him but feeling mad that he misses him and is so distraught over his death despite how terrible he was. Hunter was absolutely sucked in with the Emperor’s Coven propaganda until Hollow Mind, even if he did have moments of rebellion, so we can assume Belos didn’t raise him to have that attitude with only brutal abuse. It must’ve also been done with heavy manipulation and gaslighting while also sprinkling in plenty of moments to point to and be able to say “look at the good times we had! I did everything for you! How could you even think of betraying me?” Anyways, point was, this is a great animation and it still can work within canon.

Belos never loved Hunter, he loved Caleb, whom he saw in him and it hurts a lot in this context

This is just…so beautiful 🤧 And we really need Hunter’s backstory Edit: yeah so,um anywAY- *starts crying*

i had this idea that he genuinly did love hunter like a son but (if the titan does speak to him) the titan wanted to use hunter as a vessel he started neglecting him, then with the curse acting up it turned into abuse and stuff like that
