The Momma Cherri's episode always warms my heart so damn much. Gordon just goes in, eat some perfect homestyle cooking, has zero complaints because he genuinely loved everything about what he ate and he compliments them, then just leaves. Zero insults, didn't raise his voice, calm, satisfied, and out of there. Shame that they closed though. He came back there with an empty plate and even he was shocked, lol.

You didnt see the follow up episode. Their restaurant was packed and their kitchen was full of frozen cooked food that they just warmed up. Gordon was super disappointed. After that follow up episode aired, people stopped going.

You can only work so much a day and she needed a chef but since she was already in debt she wouldn't pay for a chef full time so she screwed herself sideways. Gordon's episode with her revived things for a bit but when things got busy she resorted to shortcuts like frozen food and destroyed what little of her business remained

Those owners always annoy me in that episode. I mean, they are confronted with the fact their chef can cook if they just let him do his job, but they are too scared (and unfit as restaurant owners) to consider that a good thing that could mean they can have a flourishing business while spending less energy micro-managing and having less negativity in their lives. Of course I don't know her, but the woman comes across as someone who has adopted the life philosophy of 'a day without complaining is a day wasted'. I feel I should pity her, but I struggle to do so.

I find it quite a respectable quality in Gordon that if he hates your food, he will tell you he hates and it’s terrible, but also if he likes it, he will give the praise, no staying quiet. No middle ground.

When Gordon finishes his plate you served him, you know you a beast at cooking.

I think I’ve seen every episode of Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell and unless I’m mistaken Gordon liked every dessert he ate, even the one at that ridiculous hotel where the guy was hoarding all the artwork and other junk. That dessert was store bought, but he still liked it. He obviously has a sweet tooth. For the most part, he hated everything else he tried.

@@prylynviolet1485 depends on what you use for the burger. Store bought ground beef should always be cooked all the way. But if you were to make your own ground beef from steak you could go rarer

What many don't seem to understand is that if Gordon Ramsay tells you your food is sh*t then it's obviously sh*t, he's just being honest and he will always praise you when your food is good.

Just loved the look Ramsay gave when Bill touched his shoulder. Bill seems like the kind of guy who would squeeze one off in the bathroom then walk straight out without washing his hands. I'm sure Ramsay was thinking the same thing.

One thing I noticed is that older (and likely ethnic) women have balls. They are absolutely not afraid of Gordon Ramsay and their cooking speaks for itself. They seemed to walk right up to Gordon while he's eating their dish instead of hiding in the back. Their desserts seem to be the only things that hit on the first try.

They're confident because they've got a lot of experience and they've put a lot of hard work over those years into their food, and that's something I respect very much. I can understand people who are self-deprecating about their food, even when it ends up tasting good (I'm one of those people -- I'll always assume people will have the worst reaction to anything I make), but people who are confident AND talented are on a whole other level of awesomeness.

She leaned over for the kiss she deserved like gordon was her son. That got me laughing and holding back a tear. Mama knows

Gordon pokes his head around the kitchen corner,hands in his plate and goes "Bloody delicious". if as a chef you don't tell your grandchildren about that you don't understand the magnitude of that moment. The plate was finished . He handed it back.

The last one if Gordon eat his food and cleaned his plate u are set for life.

That's why RAMSAY is so incredible. He really cares about people, especially chefs that show passion and creativity. They can screw up frequently as long as they listen, learn and practice what Ramsay is saying. You can tell when someone cares for the food they make, which essentially dictates how great the customers experience will be. Keep it going Gordon.

Radioactive Lemon as a professional chef I must completely disagree with your statement. The exactness and precision it takes to bake and make pastry can be much harder than savory food. My personal theory behind why there are more quality desserts on kitchen nightmares is, a person has to have confidence in order to put a homemade dessert on the menu. Especially in a smaller kitchen where staff is limited. There is too much savory prep to do for the cooks/chefs and if they don’t believe in or have a proven track record for their pastry skill set then they wouldn’t waste their time diverting time away from savory and would just bye their desserts in. Also if the restaurant has a pastry chef/cook that’s often all they do. They are a specialist. They don’t need to waste their time prepping or coming up with s wide range of appetizers and entrees and all their garnishes/sides. The pastry chef can just focus on a small handful of items they know they do well. Just my opinions from a professional who has been in the field for 16 years.

Eric Mack yeah for the past month I've been really into cooking and a little baking lately and Ive changed my opinion and I totally agree with you. I tried to make a souffle a few weeks ago (yes I know someone whos been taking cooking seriously for about a month shouldn't be making souffles lol) and tried making lemon bars twice, well the first time it was more zesty egg bars and the second time it was more lemon bread and it really is quite intricate.

Radioactive Lemon I could maybe help you troubleshoot your soufflé. When I was just out of culinary school I worked this brutal station that was half garde manger(all cold apps and entrees) half pastry. I had to learn to make soufflé to order while trying to manage things like opening oysters, salads, terrines, etc. Not bragging, I’m just saying I know them so well that I could probably tell you exactly what you need to change at exactly what point in the process.
