I had a conversation with my girlfriend today. She took her 3yo to the park with their baby stroller because Lil one likes to play with it. Another kid came and took the stroller away and that kids mom said something along the lines of "Well my kid doesn't have one so yours should share". As a material scientist: that's NOT "leather" ... it is "plastics FILLED with leather powder to give it the feel and smell of leather". [Animal skins are not perfect and they will have wounds from insect bites, combat, rocks/sticks/diseases ... and thus ACTUAL LEATHER is far more valuable than to be turned into silly shoes and also FAR TOO RARE to have enough of the stuff. This was spot on. One of the biggest issues we have in the United States is that most of us are moderates. We keep our mouths shut and try to get along. Minorities overwhelming receive harsher penalties for the same crime as white Americans, minority assets such as property receive lower appraisals than white Americans for similar/same/equal properties, minorities gets denied loans 50% more often than white with similar credit, 95% of hate crimes or group targeted violence such as mass shootings, bombings, or assaults are against minorities. People march in the streets saying jews will not replace us, former presidents saying Mexicans are rapists and criminals, the proud boys and others saying democrats are pedos, and the kkk and predominant Republicans saying blacks are destroying our country. So what honestly are you talking about. To stop racism, we need to acknowledge what oppression looks like and what actually is. If you can't recognize it, you can't stop it or say it doesn't exist. We also need to recognize the progress we've made, and what can be done moving forward. Just saying stop talking about it won't end it, it will just stop those with the power from having to take responsibility or feel guilty for taking advantage of their privelege.

The concept itself isn’t wrong though, look at historically speaking how women were treated, but the whole movement right now just isn’t working because we’ve already achieved equality. But it seems to be that people will not understand that differences will remain, and equality can only be held if there are differences, in for example jobs, sports, politics. How can you achieve equality in for example 50\50 male and female workers in construction. You cant, so take it less literal, and try to achieve equality in general statistics like homelessness, working possibilities, as many schooling options.

But I've also been told to pay attention to race, again, by people of various races. So which is it? Isn't it better to ask something in order to get clarification and to get my thoughts and ideas straight than to wonder or to hold onto ideas that aren't right? Degrees don't guarantee intelligence. People come out of college with slips of paper and assume they know more than everyone else around them. This is a sin; it is a miss of the mark and they do only themselves a disservice. I used to admire Tyson.
