When Dee Met Sue | Ep. 2 | Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird: The Greatest Duo | Nike x TOGETHXR

Спорт

“There’s no street lights here, there’s no traffic here... there’s no people.”
Storrs, Connecticut was a complete culture shock for Dee. Even as a top recruit coming out of high school, her freshman year reflected that transition. As she learned to adjust to a new system, a new style of play, and a new place, her best friend, Sue, was there for her every step of the way.
This is a story about friendship, adversity, and inevitable triumph.
In this 8-episode series presented by Nike and TOGETHXR, we highlight four pivotal years in the greatest duo’s journey: 1996, 2000, 2016 and 2020, through the lens of Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi.

I would a love a 'The Last Dance' style doc on these two and that whole generation of Uconn and the ups and downs of how they made it into the monster program that it became.

I love hearing all the backstories! There are always surprises and they reveal the humanity behind the glam we see on TV.

Not a fan of everything about Tuarasi, but she's definitely the GOAT of women's basketball in my opinion. 3 national championships, 3 WNBA titles, 10x All Star, 5x scoring champion. Can't argue with what she's accomplished.

My list of Top 5 All Time (in no particular order): Diana Taurasi, Tamika Catchings, Sheryl Swoopes, Candace Parker, Cynthia Cooper. Top players currently (15, in no order): Breanna Stewart, Aja Wilson, Jonquel Jones, Elena Delle-Donne, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Kelsey Plum, Candace Parker, Alyssa Thomas, Sylvia Fowles, Courtney Vandersloot, Nneka Ogwumike, Natasha Howard, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Griner (if she were playing this year she'd be top 5 in the league, potentially MVP).

Geez how many times are they gonna talk about this? They’ve been talking about the “UConn days” and “Me and sue” for 23 years, literally! It’s the same exact stories every single time. Enough already. I love both of these guys but enough is enough.
