This thing was a gamble from the jump. Cedar point saved money 💴 by going with zamperla. They bought 4 rides from them as a combo deal and TT2 was done for cheap cheap because the trains were never done before which allowed them to do it for the lows

Come on CP……..give us some transparency and a NEW UPDATE !! I don’t think it reopens this season if its not open for the Fourth of July Holiday.

I personally called Cedar Point 2 days ago, and asked Is it possible that Top Thrill 2 will be open by July 17, because I have plans to fly back home from San Diego to visit Cedar Point on my Birthday. All I'm going to say is this. The Woman straight up told me that Top Thrill 2, most likely won't reopen until close to the end of the 2024 season. No BS guys. And also stated that it might not operate again this season. This of course was after Tony Clark said on a local radio station saying that the down time of Top Thrill 2 isn't going to be an all summer thing. WWWEEEEEEELLL???

@@camminnis20 The lady who I spoke to was in the maintenance department. When she took my call she answered, Cedar Point Maintenance!! That's who the Cedar Point phone operator connected me to. We even had a little chat, wanting to know how the weather in San Diego was. She said It was 91° in Sandusky, and I let her know that it was a balmy 73° where I'm at. We got a chuckle out of that. SO THERE!!! And she wasn't the Dip n Dots Lady. She didn't get into all of the specifics about Top Thrill 2. But she was kind enough to give me a heads up to not to expect to ride The Coaster when I return home. BTW, I trust her over Tony Clark!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣‼️

So, not sure if you understand the situation Tony is in. He works for CP - not you or myself, so in hindsight, he doesn’t have to tell us anything! His hands are tied. He is only allowed to give out what his boss says he can. I believe her name is Karrie but could be wrong on that. She’s always at the big q & a’s. I’m not a TC fan because he can be very rude or off putting at times but I also understand why he can’t tell us more. It’s frustrating but when has CP ever been transparent with us? Btw - Dorney park has the best in the business! With KI coming in a hot second!

I was at hotel Breakers June 16 and 17 and didn't see or hear trains testing. I was up really late both nights. Wild Mouse was running empty trains until 2:30 am 🙄 Also, on the night of the 16th, I got a Steel Vengeance ride in the back seat with no trim brakes. It's pace not being interrupted was a unique experience. My best SV ride ever.

Steve no trims is something crazy we got 1 ride like that and oh my what a ride. Best ride for us forsure too - as far as the 16th and 17th we meant american testing services on site doing the ndt or certifying results, not trains testing - we could have been a bit more clear there in our wording, meant to imply they were there doing other types of testing it seemed.

No trim brakes, sweet! My best experience was a roll back on TTD. What made it even special, it seemed the whole park erupted in cheers 😂

i went to cedar point my first time years ago and was little and too scared to ride top thrill even tho i rode every single other ride in the park. then i get another trip scheduled and miss og top thrill by one single weekend the accident happened literally right before went. then i finally witness the opening of top thrill 2 so i buy and any day ticket this season and am yet to go bc i couldn’t make it the first couple weeks it was open and now im desperately hoping it opens before the end of the season

I hope it opens by Friday. I'm driving all the way from Sandusky.

GhosterCoasters, I am going to Cedar Point on Monday, and I am really hoping it will reopen on the day I go. If not, hopefully I get to go back next year. I haven’t been back since I think 2016 or 17 when I was younger.

Dude blue streak fast lane is underrated i get atleast 5-10 rides a visit simply cause its basically always 5 mins or less 😂 gotta love quick and easy rides lmao

It mite open in May next year the test is just to see the stability in the trains and they're finding out that they suck

I went from 2012-2021 no park visits… first trip back first ride was steel vengeance and… well here we are with a channel and passion for coasters and chatting with cool people. Crazy how you can meet people all over the world from liking rides and have convos with so many awesome people

If it’s not open by July 9th I will be emotionally broken. I literally waited 3 years and all the hype and excitement. My trip is coming up… uhgggg. :(

Has anyone else been experiencing major maintenance issues when they go to the park? I’ve been there 4 times so far and every time I get in line for something it closes at least once sometimes twice before I finally get a ride. Sometimes it’s to put another train on the track but usually it’s something else. I was there on a Sunny Friday and Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Millennium, Gatekeeper and Gemini were all down for hours

Just went this week and all the big rides were shut down except Gatekeeper. I've never had that happened at any park I've been to. I'm not sure what's going on with the park but a lot of people were complaining that day!!!

@@vralex02 around 10 years ago I used to get passes all the time and go weekly. It was rare to see a ride go down. This is the first year since then that I’ve had a pass. The first 2 times I went I was hoping it was just bad luck but it’s been every time so unfortunately I don’t think it’s just me

Took my kids May 10/11 this year; my oldest got to ride TT2 (thank GOD) mid-day on 5/10, and it closed for good within an hour of his ride. They were having a lot of problems that day with it, intermittently running and then stopping it, sometimes with loaded trains waiting and then being reversed back into the loading platform so they could (apparently) adjust for weight by moving riders or removing them. And you're right: many rides were down for maintenance issues while we were there. Gemini was testing the entire weekend, day and night, and never opened. Magnum went down once because THREE idiots lost their phones on the ride (thanks people) and then later again for maintenance for half a day. This doesn't include the times rides also had to be shut down due to wind. It was disconcerting to see so many rides down for maintenance, yet I also appreciate their commitment to safety.

I think July 4th would be ideal. I’m sure they want it open for the summer months. But it does worry me that the Park has had no other updates. Even if they come out and say. “We are still working on x” , “we expect to have the ride open in the coming (weeks) (months) . My fear is that they have been radio silent. And that tells me they have absolutely not timeline yet. And very well could be next year. They need to keep their patrons informed. They are using the ride in marketing etc. still and it won’t surprise me if we see some class action lawsuits soon. I don’t know. I’m hoping for mid July. But honestly it wouldn’t surprise me if it doesn’t open until next year. It would be sad but I’m sure they want to get it right.

Most reasonable response to this in a while ^ i agree wholeheartedly, some of the radio silence is starting to scare me especially when guests aren’t seeing tests happening at night now either. But rumors are blue train has wheels so, if thats true maybe they are just closing in on certifications as well.

I said july 4th, but if it somehow gets into august i’m guessing halloweekends or bust. By august i think my positivity might wane a bit. Still think they can pull it off, but by then the kitchen would be hot for zamperla indeed. Lot sunk into this ride for the park and zamperla. Hoping it gets smoothened out ASAP.

If its not open by August....theyll have select days like for halloweekends ....and after that next year/season for a full opening

Going at the final weekend in August....so I assume it'll be closed along with Maverick broke down all the days I'm there with my family. This will literally make or break any future visits to CP!

I really think it was a mistake by Zamperla to make their new trains for TT2 out of aluminum instead of steel at the height and SPEEDS this ride goes ! I understand they probably did it to keep the weight down but I think it was the wrong choice.

Good thing Cedar Point likes to burn bridges with all the other more reputable manufacturers; they would have had to pay more money to get a more reliable ride!

It will not be reopened by July 4th. There are many issues with it besides the wheel assemblies.
