Yes! I hate they don’t do this on American shows. Not only does it allow the chef to focus their attention on the one dish, it’s a more consistent way to judge the food.

@@iamnotpasta4408 A chef doesn't just make one dish at a time, nor does a chef only make one dish per service. Requiring the contestants to make 3 dished in the final is also a test on how consistent their cooking skill is. There just isn't a way to test their consistency while allowing them to focus on one dish.

@@9292098 think you may have misunderstood, it's referring to how in other masterchefs, they like in this masterchef, share one plate of food, but they don't split it evenly so many times they just taste 1 part (depending on the judge that tastes first) instead of every component of the dish

@trix o wooden spoons are more difficult to clean which is why they are not commonly used as dinnerware.
These judges are soo sweet I am used to the normal ones who are super nitpicky they take one bite and throw away the plate.

I'm just really in awe with these judges, they were so professional and caring to the contestants, not like other masterchefs exaggerating and disgracing other cooks because they hate the taste and the presentation of the food they just throw their spoon in front of the contestants. Which is absurd.

That's why Masterchef Australia is the only edition of Masterchef I actually like. In other editions is all about the drama. Even here in Italy, where we pride ourselves about our food culture, Masterchef is more about emotions or drama and the contestants are chosen for their "gimmick" rather for their ability.
The moment she said she thought it was a good move to plate two plates... I knew something bad would happen

Masterchef Australia by far has the best dishes. These would be finalist dishes in Masterchef US and Canada but Australia makes 4 of them every challenge

Also, contestants are chosen based on talent rather than drama which other countries seem to prioritise for their versions of Masterchef... The contests for MC Aus are very talented from day one. You should seem some of the audition episodes.

I'm used to watching the US version. This is the complete opposite. In the first episode I watched I was waiting for the evil twist and it never came. After a few more episodes I stopped waiting for one. I like this better.
I in all my days of watching competition videos have NEVER seen judges enjoy a food so much that they are licking the plate and eating the entire dish. Congratulations Jessica

god i loved Jessica since the first few episodes. she was always the one who went left field, had bold flavors and bold ideas. yes raynold was the king of desserts and a master at plating, billie was a beast in the kitchen but Jessica was a stand out for me.

The way she was so stressed and won was so wholesome I loved it
Honestly she is so relatable to me, and not just with cooking and making mistakes there, but getting over the mistakes and failures that often are only as big and important as we make them to be ourselves

So far I’ve only seen the Canadian and Australian master chef and I’m happy with that. The judges are nice, the contestants are cool and the food looks good!
This is by far the best tv master chef competition I’ve ever seen. They actually take the time to respect each person equally
The best from MC Australia are Judges. They always finished up the foods not just tasting small amount, show how much their love and appreciate to foods.
