Never too old!!! I've been playing videogames since 1977 with the Atari 2600. And I still continue to play today with PC games, Xbox Series X, PS5, Switch, and other oddities such as the re-release of the C64, Atari 400, Amiga 500, and others... And yes, I'm 60 years young and will forever play videogames!!! Love you channel and game on!!!

I turned 51 last week and I have just STARTED my KZread gamer journey. I will be at SoCal with bells on and full of excitement to enjoy every aspect of the gaming community. Maybe I'll be looking for stuff a console generation or two earlier than most, but I still have now and will have a blast. Age is just a number.

Mid 50's here and I have just started a KZread Channel myself. I have loved gaming since the Atari 2600 days and grew up riding my BMX bike all over town hitting up arcades as well. Will I stop playing games when I am older? Heck no and I hope you guys carry the gaming passion or bug with you your entire lives as well. I tend to think gaming is in our blood but understand the time factor of gameplay will change from time to time for each and every one of us. I intend to be hitting up my HUGE backlog my entire life. I look forward to retirement one day and gaming with anyone that wants to game with an old codger whether it be grandkids or other old farts. GAME ON!

Definitely a bigger fan of the 8-16 bit generations and arcades, compared to what's mostly coming out these days, especially when it's something i missed out on growing up, which still technically translates to a first time experience. StarTropics totally rings a bell! I had a better time with that one than even the original LOZ. I'm almost 40, and I feel like my modern gaming days are waning. Looking forward to the Switch 2 and the next big main line Resident Evil game, but that's about it really. My PS5 is collecting some serious dust bunnies, and my Switch as of late has beasically transformed into a retro Schmup machine. :P

I'm subbed to an older woman named Britta FoodforDogs, and she's a British grandma who still loves gaming. And I mean hardcore gaming, huge editions and complete collections of super obscure JRPGs, figures, modern, retro, handheld, platformers, beat em ups, whatever. It's fun to see someone of that generation understand our hobby and crazy gaming lingo. I do think the generations surrounding NES-PS2 are going to have a lot more elderly gamers than we have now. I'd say it has something to do with the games and quality, but also the physical aspect of renting as a kid and collecting as an adult, the nostalgia and timeframe when all those consoles came out. It kind of all stops being that important towards the end of the PS3 era, at least for the ones that were "kids" during that time. They don't have the nostalgia of renting a different cart or disc every weekend, or the actual console wars and all the fanfair surrounding Nintendo vs Sega and the others. I just think that the heavy digital reliance will affect how ppl see games of today in the future. You'll probably have to emulate 75% of them to get it running correctly with downloading deleted updates and patches. We don't have to worry about that all the way up to the PS2 era, which is our prime nostalgia era, '85-2003ish

Ive noticed since ive gotten older I find myself watching people play video games on youtube almost more than I play them myself. Which is weird but if you think about it when we were kids and in groups of friends playing Nintendo, It only had 2 controllers so even as a kid i did spend alot of time watching people play video games.

I just turned 51. I am definitely still gaming. Started with the 2600 and I will still buy games but it’s been turning from wanting to play than, to a nostalgic buy to remember the boxes, adds and so forth. My main gaming is done on the 360 and newer consoles. I casually play my snes and nes but never connected with n64 and GameCube as I never had them when they were the “new” consoles.

I'm an Atari guy in my 50s and I still play when I can find a few minutes, definitely not as much as I'd like. I also vend at 2 cons per year, just for fun. There's a huge Atari homebrew scene as well, and Activision legends David Crane, Daniel Kitchen, Garry Kitchen, and John Van Ryzin are still making killer Atari games through their company, Audacity Games.

I try to make time at least 1 night a week to game and I feel like I'll be gaming the rest of my life, from my cold dead hands. 😄 But you definitely gotta do what works for you. I find that I work hard and I don't want to save it all up till I retire, so I make time again at least once a week to get some game time in.

Man, so many emotions with this video. I'm 52 and I still play video games..... occasionally. I go in spurts. I have picked up every retro device possible to play games, including the NES carts with 500+ games on them, raspberry pi's, you name it. In defense of the 50 somethings like me or anyone that grew up with the Atari 2600 first. The Atari was HUGE when it came out. We were blown away on Christmas when we finally got ours. For 1977 and on through the early 80's, that was all we really had, unless you had a friend that had ColecoVision or Intellivision. The reason I don't play very much Atari, which is probably why a lot of folks don't, is the games are just "meh". Barring a lot of the great Activision games like Pitfall, they just don't hold up. Many of the Atari games were ports of Arcade games and most of us would rather play the original arcade games on M.A.M.E. I do agree with ya'll that given one system to play if I had to take one to the nursing home, it would, without question, be the NES. I about jumped out the chair when the Ricky said he built a chicken coop, I just finished building one for my wife as well. Getting older, I like to tinker with stuff, so there are other hobbies that take up a lot of my time. And if I was there, I would totally buy Ben a beer, because I think NES Golf is outstanding! And I don't even play real golf, but that game is incredible, I just played it this weekend. No matter how good you think you are, it always manages to remind you of how difficult it can be.

You are never too old to game but you definitely get less time as you get older. I played games like crazy in my teens and twenties. Now in my mid 30s I rarely play. I've got other commitments, work and other interests that have taken chunks of my time. I play exclusively retro games that I know I like so I'm not wasting time on games I end up not liking. Lots of older PC games as well as I'm sitting at the computer a lot anyhow so getting the console set up seems like a hassle at times.

Long story short. Sega everything was my core memory of my childhood. specifically virtua fighter, Daytona USA. And of course Nights into dreams. N64, I'd have to pick Zelda OCOT, beatle adventure racing and wetrix. Xbox fan. Grew up with it into my 20's and still a fan. Cutrently collecting xbox OG. Wish i could collect sega stuff. But it's out of my price range ATM.
