There is an easier way to get traction in order to remove the blade. There’s a slit under the blade and if you line it up with the slit in the blade rotating part, put a Phillips screwdriver in there, it locks it up and there’s zero rotation. Sorry for the not having the correct names but you can find it if you turn the edger sideways a bit.

Oh damn. You're right! Just checked mine. I'll have to make an updated video for the next time I replace the blade.

Flathead screwdriver works better than a Phillips

How often do you usually have to replace the blade? Was thinking about getting one but wasn’t sure it’d be worth it

It really depends on how often you edge and how many times you miss and hit concrete. Mine lasted a good 2 years before needing to replace.

The wear indicator on your blade will be your best bet.

Gotcha, I cut grass on side, been using weed eater, was hoping the edger blade would last longer, seems like it would if yours lasted 2 years, thanks!

@@josiahdouglas7432 I use my string trimmer rarely for edging. Only did last time before I made the replacment video. Using the string trimmer works, but it makes more of a mess and you'll eat through the string signicantly faster as your constantly hitting earth/concrete with it. If you're on a budget and just starting, the string trimmer works, but having and dedicated edger is easier and quicker as you don't have to balance the string trimmer and keep it level, the edger just rides on its wheel along the edge and you push it along.
