I've seen it become increasingly common over the past twenty years, its very common nowadays since everyone has access to the internet and the anonymity it provides. Unless there is a serious mental illness component, and depression, severe alcoholism and other mental illness are rampant in us first responders. Also the pressures of a female officer in a very, VERY commonly toxic bro culture field can't be ruled out. Or none of that and she is a sociopath. Her story is a common one among women in police forces nationwide. In Seattle multiple female officers have claimed similar things, several receiving settlements after overwhelming evidence but officers still publicly deride them. It's a sickness in the force and it needs to be rooted out.

I don't understand why anyone was willing to lose their marriage and their livelihood over a person who likes like a small child and middle-aged woman st the same time.

She’s either an adult who is responsible for her actions, or she is a child who should not be afforded the ability to make such decisions. It’s one or the other.
