When ghillies were first added, the group I was with at the time, about 8 guys deep would all be in full ghillies have either AKs or M4s and lie in wait at the Hotspots on full pop servers, or would go down to the coast and save the coastal cuties from the abusive fresh spawn killers. The amount of times people would literally step on us was insane and the voice Com trolling was next level fun. Ghillie suits are slept on in this and very VERY FEW people use them correctly, normally everyone just stands or crouches in a tree/bush with them and wonders why they were seen

Exactly. I'm an OG mod player that was still heavy into DayZ until about two years ago. These kids sit right on the tree line or in the middle of an open field when I'm sitting back 200m into the tree line slightly up the hill with a handful of lines of sight and a handful of alternate fighting positions. Only shoot twice if you've got a clean shot on their buddy that has no idea where you are yet after you killed his friend. South of Novy, just north of blue trail but still 100-200m south of the parallel access road there is that nice ridge there where I like to watch Novy/Starry from where I find a lot of free lunches. I once was showing a newer to DayZ player a few things there and we killed a few squads without even remotely being detected. I look for people that left NWAF headed back to base or whatever and apply the daddy tax to all those going south or east equally. I usually let those going north and west, even if geared, go along their way and keep an eye out for them to come back even if just to see what they are up to and what they have on their way home.

It was a massive new players joinning the ARMA's server with 10K hours per player It's quite amusing to see such a big difference in weapon handling and field experience between Dayz players and ARMA players. Dayz is a survivalist game. ARMA a war games milsim. No offens, a little salty, but just funny to observ that

I absolutely love the aspect of being stealthy with a ghillie suit and hunting players/picking them off one by one, but the only bad part is what about the grass render distance? Being that grass stops rendering after a certain distance, it kinda makes using a ghillie useless unless you’re hiding in a tree, unfortunately..

Yeah, that and other players cranking their settings all the way down. Back in dayz mod you could hide under trees and had a bit better luck, but unless youre X meters away, it wont matter. Hell i would even play 24 hour servers and crank gamma up at night so i could see. Poor mans night vision.

I'm going to add this comment to the main comments as well just because it's funny, but I also took the same exact shots, just in the opposite direction, I was on the mountain and was firing across the river past the camp.....at a group of 10 escaping bears I had been hunting in that area 🤣 I had killed the bulk of the 30 bear pack, and a bunch of them escaped off the mountain and ran across the river....I thought they had gotten away and was carving up their homeboy's corpses to sell at the trader....next thing I know, I looked down the mountain as I was getting into my Huey and spotted them, took 12 shots (what was remaining in my loaded mag) at the pack of 10 bears, hit 10 out of 12 shots at 1k with my RSASS. Sneaky bastards.

@@TUROCK320 yeah I've never recorded any of my 10yrs of DayZ gameplay, from DayZ Mod, to DayZ Epoch, DayZ Origins, Exile Mod, A3S, DZA3, A3 Epoch, DayZ SA...none of it lol.... and I probably wouldn't have did too bad, everyone I've ever played with or talked to in game claims I either have a ridiculously deep voice, or, sound like some type of radio personality or sports announcer 🤣 The only game I ever even considered recording and making KZread videos with was BeamNG, just because I see how terrible some of those channels are that upload some of that games content and how many subs those channels get for absolutely nothing.... and here I am, still not recording or uploading jack sheet 😅

There's nothing more satisfying than a Crossmap shot and a 20 minuet approach to Retrieve the loot before they despawn

tope in a ghillie suit is just OP.. I have never seen a player in DAYZ with his accuracy and now he gets a ghillie.. that's just too much TOPE..

My main take aways from this are that militaries in general would be way more effective if radio communications were 100% secure (y’know so it’s “fair”) but snipers would probably struggle more if they had to use a button to breathe normally 😂 I also question if blurring the line between games and simulations is entirely appropriate anymore (my only credentials being someone who grew up playing a wide variety of video games) and I only really bring it up because the main criticisms of gamers my entire life have seemed to skew heavily towards these more physically isolating, technically intricate, focus intensive simulations. Games like DayZ are more like a combination of Microsoft Flight Simulator and Being John Malkovich 😁

If dayz had GODS, tope would be the ZEUS of them. 🌩

Nice shot Tope, tell me, does that rifle you made the shot with have a higher bullet speed than the other sniper rifles? my 515 metre shot from the residential towers over looking Bagota airfieild took it seemed a full second to land. it made timing the shots difficult. I forget exactly which rifle I was using. but I guess bullet speed must be taken into account with the various rifles? Your shot was twice that distance nearly and seemed to land right away

Now this is how you endgame. For some reason I love the concept of hunting other people without touching any of their loot
