Welcome to another episode of "Wheels Wednesdays," where we talk all about the many interesting vehicles that the San José Fire Department uses during firefighter operations! In episode four, SJFD's Battalion Chief Patrick Chung gives us a tour of the "Chief's Buggy" (also known as the "Battalion Chief Buggy"). Very cool! National Night Out is always a blast and this was a great opportunity to get more face-to-face time with our community members.

I wonder If Battalion chief can perform rescues and fire fighting too? Helping the truck, rescue engine etc. Specifically running into burning or collpsed buildings or performing first aid besides incident comand.

Good question. While it is possible in extreme circumstances, it is unlikely. A battalion chief is mainly focused on managing large incidents and making sure everyone on scene is safe. If they step away from their duties, then a risk is created for the other firefighters.

Hi Chase. We're not sure. This specific shot is stock footage. While it is not in San José, it does represent what some San José roads look like in the Diablo Range.
