In this video I take my wheels off to give them a deep clean including the aches and then coat them with a 12 month protection. For anyone with these style alloys will know how hard they are to clean or even keep clean for that matter, so this video is to show you the only way to fully clean them is take them off!

    Good video btw. It's much better watching specialised topics than full details, I mean how many times can you watch someone wash a car. But these type of videos are usually always useful and full of tips and tricks. In non-voiceover videos the overlay is essential for tips so keep up with that and maybe add some info about what part of the process it is, what products you are using and at what dilution ratio, what tools/brushes you use etc

    Yes these types of videos are really helpful for sure and I will keep doing them. I know it's hard with the full detail videos as that where you get the views and subscriber from haha, but I try to do different cars, also use different products and try to do something a little different in each wash process because there isn't just 1 way to wash a car. Thank you for your opinion on the non voice over ones, I always try to take the viewers idea and opinions on board as this is how I can improve my content each time and try to make it better 🙌 thanks again, really appreciate it 👍

    Was that a torque wrench you used to tighten the wheels back up? I want to do a wheels-off clean but I don't have a torque wrench and I assumed you needed one for putting the wheels back on

  • @the_jnlt_channel

    @the_jnlt_channel

    Thanks for watching! No it wasn't a torque wrench. I use to be a car mechanic, so I have an idea for how tight they should be. You'll be surprised that most garages probably wouldn't torque the wheels as you get to know it. But if you did want to torque the wheels, you would need a torque wrench and know how much you need to do. For my car it would be 140nm I believe, if I was to torque them. Hopefully helps 👍

    @@the_jnlt_channel so do you think it doesn't really matter that much then? I mean I've worked in steel construction over 20 years so I've fastened a bolt or two in my time so I don't think I'd under tighten it or ridiculously over-tighten it. I don't think I'd do it on a customers car because of liability issues but I'd try it on mine just to give the inside of the barrels a clean. I only have a hand-wound jack, should that hold it or will I need some axle stands?

  • @the_jnlt_channel

    @the_jnlt_channel

    So personally for me I don't think it's too important it's more just best practice to do it the correct way but that doesn't mean you can't just do them up by hand. If it's your own car, then it's your choice isn't it. If you watch how I did it, first I did them up as tight as I could while on the stands but once the wheels are back on the ground you need to fully tighten them up. Also you will only be able to go so tight anyways and you will feel when it's about right. Just don't overtighten the locking wheel bolt as they can break inside or be hard to get back off in the future. So you could be alright with just with the jack, but for safety I would also recommend the axle stands as the jack could give away then you will have a problem. Them sort of jacks are only meant to be used for a quick fix, wouldn't recommend leaving a car up on it for too long 👍

    Wow can really see the difference! How often should you take the wheels off and do a deep clean on average? I've noticed you use the autogym magma fallout remover. Is that the best on the market?

  • @the_jnlt_channel

    @the_jnlt_channel

    Thanks for watching. So this is the 2nd time I've taken them off since I bought the car 14 months ago. Personally I like to do it every 12 months but if you put a 2 -3 year wheel coating on them you would be able to wait longer, just personal preference. Yes I like the autoglym one, but from personal experience the bilt hamber auto wheel is the best on the market but double the price. But for the price, Autoglym Magma or VP UK Decon fallout are the next best as great value as well 👍

    @@ItsMeYourRealDad if It is a 1 litre bottle then it definitely would. I guess you get blinded by the cost without looking at how much product you are getting. But for me it's the best wheel cleaner, so definitely worth the price 👍
