I know this isn't a "build" video, and I suck at tutorials which is why I generally don't do them lol. So this may not be your ideal video, and I completely understand.

Thankyou Keith for the in-depth tutorial. It's easy to overlook some of the details regarding wheel swaps resulting in frustration at shitty fitment

Great video Keith thanks a bunch man for all your help with the hobby ik ow it's not something you normally do but do you know a way to do a drift stance with tubes instead of just bending the axel like all the vids I can find look forward to the next one mate
@OutlawSpeedShop2001

@@festaawsome6297 I do not know, sorry. I would think you could still bend the ends of the tubes once the wheels are glued in. The brass is very pliable

Thanks for the video. It's very useful and informative for those of us who are starting out with customizing.👍👍👍
Nice, 'How to' vids are good to do for those of us who are only just beginning in this hobby.
Appreciated insight to the differing methods, clear explanation, half expected a white board and a pointer, lmao.

Excellent video, very interesting and informative, thanks.
I was determined to figure this stuff out by myself, but a video like this would have saved me a few months of work--good thing the trial and error was fun. One slight "improvement" I might suggest is: If the axle stubs reach fairly close to the middle of the brass axle tube, only one notch needs to be cut in the center. Liquid (not gel) superglue (cyanoacrylate) will flow freely into the tube through the notch and lock the axles tight. I usually don't even have any nubs/bumps of excess glue to trim off the axle tube afterwards. Keep doing tutorials. We can all learn something new, especially when there are many ways to accomplish the same goal. You might help someone on a tight budget solve a problem without just throwing money at it. Or inspire someone to take new chances on their builds. BTW, I read somewhere that the arched plastic or metal on the chassis behind the wheels on Hot Wheels cars is to keep the axles from getting deformed when little kids push down too hard on their cars. It limits how far the axles can be bent. Makes sense to me. I pretty much always get rid of it using my belt sander.
The car went from yeah, nice. To, Wow!!! Wheels, insane what a difference they make. Cheers
Take as long as you need to get that modification just right, Keith. I love your 'winging-it-reviews', I take notes the old fashion way (pen & paper) while watching these types of videos that you do. You always provide a shit-ton of really useful information for us novice diecast mechanics, keep up the great work buddy, I'm always looking forward to more of your videos, whatever it is?! Practice & patience makes perfect modified diecasts, the Outlaw way lol

The wheel swap makes a world of difference. I like your videos where you school us. The tips are invaluable. Thanks Keith for this 🍻
Another great video. Like your shop setup. Thanks again.
Great how to vid .... always a good thing to get how to info out there ...
No destruction in the Comments so far. Just a Big thank you. Would like to see more of this, but i watch any new Video coming up on your channel in General. :)
Awesome tips for us beginners. Please consider keep doing tutorials far more interesting than loud music.
Your videos have inspired me to try for myself
Awesome...I sometimes find new collectors in the stores and once talking end up at customs and how to what to use and so on ....I usually just send them to KZread it's alot easier and hand them one of my own work RAOK customs I figure it gives them a visual goal. I've sold some pieces online but it's more of a satisfaction to give them away. Thanks for helping everyone better understand the amount of effort that goes into custom pieces.
Excellent video brother 👍 this is gonna help alot of beginners to the hobby !.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing 👍👍👍
Keep doing these types of videos
I actually like you going slow and showing step by step what you were doing. I learned a lot from your video. Thanks for sharing!
Great video ... wish there was something like this when I started customizing... would of saved a lot time lol
Sweet tutorial!!! Nothing wrong with these
Seriously, glad you did this. I've recently taken this up as a hobby and wheel swaps are hands down the most difficult part to come to grips with for a n00b. Thanks!

Great video. I generally prefer seeing tutorials over builds, unless the build is featuring some specific technique I'm interested in.
In addition to the car hobby, Im pretty sure we have the same taste in music. Keep it up brotha!
Great video 👍 I've been modifying Hot wheels for a few months, thanks for sharing.
The wheel swap made quite a difference on this firebird!!
There's no doubt it Keith, the wheels really do make a costume diecast the real deal!!!!

I liked it very informative even though I watch yall it will make more sense now that you did this video .... thanks looking forward to the next 🤙
Those Green Light wheel kits look 😎.. They can really spice up the looks!!
I may have commented before but thanks for your tutorials. Keep them up if you can they help out people a lot. You builds are always very well done. I need to get a cropping tool soon so I can start doing wheel swaps
Cool thanks! Learned a lot! Very informative. I'm just getting into this hobby. Enjoying it so far.

Very informative. Thanks alot for the axle tube info. That helps in customizing the size I want. Keep rolling.
Thank you thank you, perfect content.
This is a good video because I'm about to start swapping wheels on my hot wheels and matchbox cars. So your video was very helpful. I definitely need a dremel! ^^ Excellent choice off music by the way! ;) Greetings from germany! 🤘
We need more of these using American castings. Seems like the others have gone the JDM-route and high end customizations that simple mods like this are forgotten for the beginners. Could you one day to a paint comparison of a raw casting? One fresh out of the stripper (washed and dried naturally), another that has been given the scotch brute, wire wheel treatment only and the last fully sanded & polished? Lots of newbies need to see the difference a little effort makes.

Love the wheels much better !
All I did to my FireBird was use paper clips for the axles and glue
This Firebird definitely could use a wheel swap!!
great to watch learn so much
Great video. Honestly, video length isn't much of an issue when the topic is covered the whole time. When there's lots of droning babble like a high school English teacher, it gets....uninteresting. NOT SO here. Tutorials are nice, because it's a good reference source. Someone can always go back to it and watch over and over. Easier to find also, rather than trying to find a specific episode that had the how-to but was posted months or even years ago. Please do more of these when possible. Ok, need coffee. I'll shut up now.
great video keep it up
Gr8 video 👍👍👍👍 Thanks for sharing
Looks like you have assembled a nice array of wheels for wheel swaps..
I'm using metal wire to make axles, it doesn't crimp like the brass tubes so I want to use the crimp tubes and or beads at the ends of the wire, what size crimp tube and or beads would the wire fit inside of? K&S @/5501- .032 music wire.
Thanks was help full😁

Hello where get ur wheel kit?
Does this improve speed or is it only for aesthetics?
Excellent information. Question though, I have a 1968 boss hoss and the left front wheel is missing. The axecels have those wheels that you have to split with a knife to get the wheel off. Would like to know how to replace them. Thanks. As always great content. 👌

Hey my friend it is good to see how you do your things too, it is generally the same thing that people do but each person has their own specific ways and what they do. You mentioned they have a crimping tool to do the ends of the piano wire, I always used the steel piano wire and it will work on that correct? If it does work on the steel piano wire where do I acquire one of these crimping tools,? If you don't mind me asking.

Where do I find different size of wheels of the same kind? I am new in this and I buy wheels online, but they are all same size, so cars with different size wheels in front and back don't work.

Thank you I always learn something from most if not all of your videos so I love them. Where did you get that case of wheels from ?? To me rims n tyres are the most important thing on any car but they are bloody expensive I'm just starting out doing these builds I have 5 hot wheels cars that all need wheels deep dish front n rear but more width at the rear do ya have any ideas n I'm on a budget. My best friend knew a guy who customized diecast cars, 1/64 - 1/18, to replicate someone's real vehicle. He was able to put it into the retailer's packaging, so it looked 100% legit from the factory; can you or do you do this for customers?

I have done similar in the past. But I found that I enjoy making things custom instead of replicating originals

It looks like sometimes you have to fabricate a bit for a good stance...
I wonder what possessed Hot Wheels to put such unrealistic wheels on their cars?
