    I usually use an over sized , extra thick nut on top of the washers. It eliminates the need to add more washers if you don't quite have enough.

    Many disc brakes have this setup. The other common style is the parking brakes incorporated into the rear calipers with a cable or electrical actuator. So they just use the rear brake pads and rotors without the added drum and brake shoe "hybrid" set up 😃

    I've got two of them 😊 Sometimes, when you use the impact, it messes up the threads on the stud and nut. That's if they fit really tightly. I learned that it's just more gentle to do it with a ratchet. Sucks that it takes more time, but it doesn't ruin parts that way.

  • @EasyFixShaun

    @EasyFixShaun

    Good tip! The oldest "OG" version of the tool used fine thread bolts and is what I have. I holds up to impact abuse. They were were made for impact use and had labels on the box. Some of the newer economy versions are having having issues stripping if used too many times from what I can tell. I have a new version and am testing it. Hand operation is an excellent way to not have an issue. I will work on an updated video eventually for that with some solution options. Hand tools is the simplest solution by far. I still like impacts, but I need a hand tool install video like you are saying.

    Interesting. Ive never seen that before. Seems like it wouldn't pull the stud in square and could damage the grip provided by the knurling on the stud. It could increase the chances of the stud spinning in the wheel hub hole at a later date.
