He only got that $50 back because it had been deducted in error after he called the O in round 2 having spun.

30:40 I've seen plenty of people say "It's..." "A..." or "It's A..." before saying the puzzle and they've never been frowned upon for it. CLEARLY they didn't want Henry solving the puzzle with just $70 in the bank especially as he was in 3rd place, well over $1000 behind the leader and there were a few consonants still remaining

I think we can say Henry’s $70 score was completely irrelevant having seen Miles Bolam solve the round 3 puzzle in February 1997 on $0.

Particularly during this era of the show when there was no "save-state" to secure a player's score after they'd solved a puzzle, meaning players would lose everything if they went bankrupt no matter what. They eventually brought back the save-state sometime in 1998, IIRC it was re-introduced during a special "couples" week to be precise

Bretto's Game Shows yes because Kerry was still there most of the time prior to Ariana's return when Tony Barber passed the torch to Rob Elliot the following year, if Tony did not host the show all the way through 2 weeks after the beginning of the second half of 1996.

If i'm not mistaking, when Adriana first fell ill, I think they had Kerrie Friend for one week, then Terasa Livingston for one week, then Cecelia Yates for one week, then I think it was Tania Zaetta for one week, then Bridget Adams for the last week of 1996. Then when Rob Elliot toolk over as host at the start of 1997, Kerrie Friend covered again for the next 6 months before Adriana made her comeback in July that year

SirChristopherGorton Kerrie Friend was the first one to cover for Adriana for one week - beginning Monday November 18, 1996. Terasa was the second for the week beginning November 25, Cecelia Yates for the week beginning December 2, Tania Zaetta for the week beginning December 9 and Bridget Adams for the final week in 1996 (December 16-20). Wheel returned on January 6 1997, where Tony appeared to hand the show over to Rob Elliott - Kerrie Friend returned on a long-term basis from that first episode on. Adriana returned on July 7, 1997.

Don't get too excited, Tony Barber was into standards.

I still like Tone better on $ale.

I like Tone too, but you're right, he was much better suited for $OTC, I don't think hostint WOF was meant for him, be he did a terrific job regardless

They don’t get credit for multiple letters over there? Why bother with big puzzles then?

Nope. You only get what you land on (same thing with the NZ version).
