Correct way to finish the wheel to polishing stage is to go trough the three steps. 1st step is a rough cut, where all the imperfection on wheel are roughly smoothed out to the unified surface roughens. This step can last from 2 to 3 hours +, depending on state of the aluminum wheel surface. Also it does matter what kind of wheel is finished, as cast, forged or machined wheel.
