In ancient times, wheat braids were weaved as part of
the harvest ritual and soil fertility.
They were weaved by the last sheaf of wheat in the field and hung in the doorway of the house as a mascot for the success of the crop.
In the next sowing season, the wheat braids were taken apart and their seeds were the first to be sown in the field, as a sign of the continuity of the life cycle.
Over time, the wheat braids became a symbol of blessing abundance, prosperity and fertility and an amulet for protection, peace, home and love.
