There are two ways to save a new number on WhatsApp for Android:
*1. Saving a number from a chat:*
* Open WhatsApp and go to the "Chats" tab.
* If you've already chatted with the number you want to save, tap on the chat with that number.
* You'll see the phone number at the top of the chat screen. Tap on the phone number.
* In the contact info screen, tap "Save" or "Save contact".
* Enter the contact's name and any other details you want to save (optional).
* Tap "Save" again.
*2. Saving a new number directly:*
* Open WhatsApp and tap on the "Chats" tab.
* Tap the "New chat" icon (it looks like a chat bubble with a pencil).
* Depending on your version of Android, you might see an "Options" button first. Tap "Options" if it's there, then select "New contact".
* Enter the contact's name and phone number.
* Tap "Save".
*Additional notes:*
* If the phone number you're saving is not saved in your phone's contacts, WhatsApp might tell you that the number isn't on WhatsApp. You'll be given the option to send an invitation to use WhatsApp.
* You can also save contacts from your phone's address book directly. Any contacts you save in your phone's address book that are also using WhatsApp will automatically show up in your WhatsApp contacts.
