Jim Nabors and Don Knotts should have never left the show. The show lost alot of chemistry without them. Wasn't the same.

It's funny that Gomer was a fully developed character but was't in a lot of episodes.

This show makes laugh every time that I watch it

I would have loved to have been the guy sitting next to Gomer that poked him to wake him up because man o man that was a classic scene!!!!!!

excellent voice, our speech of sound and pronunciation has so long veered from this.

I just saw this on TV. I wanted to find this message. Because his messsage is actually a very good one in this society. Organizations forcing people to work on family/christian holidays and people not taking at least one day in 7 to relax or have me time. People driving manic over a trip to grandma's house. Passing school buses. Just Heathens...... A main reason people are so anxious now.

They mentioned the space race on several occasions in the early episodes. It was a big deal back then.

I had an old friend years ago that became a pastor of a church, caught a guy sleeping during his preaching and threw a song book at him.

I never heard of a time that a minister telling people to relax and not be in a hurry in church. Gomer sure new how to relax. I guess you never know what will make you relax and fall asleep.

I think I'll head down to the fillin station. Get a bottle of pop. Go home...take a nap. Then maybe head over to Thelma Lou's, watch a little TV. Yep. That's what I think I'll do. Go down to the fillin station...

This show was funny and don knotts made me laugh as I watched this clipping. I miss all the crew members, other than ron howard and thelmalou.

No matter how relaxing and restful a Sunday evening band concert might be, resurrecting the infrastructure from a state of disrepair to a functioning playing unit would demand an arduous effort in a constricted amount of time 👷

So my great uncle passed away (great man) anyway, the pastor at his funeral kind of gave off a strange vibe, almost like a TV preacher. I couldnt place it, but i told my mom about it and she got the same vibe. I told her he was like the “WHATS YOUR HURRY” guy on Andy Griffith and she burst out in laughter. She told a friend in her beauty salon and that lady also laughed knowing exactly what i was referring to😅

Omg so many times I fought to stay awake.........

This guy preaches like Joel Osteen everything but Jesus

This message is actually effective in this day and age with people driving manic just going to grandma's house. Not taking at least one day a week to relax and escape stress and worries. The whole world is like the Big Apple now.

You go eat the fastfood ill be eating home cooked meals i know whats in it that way

Always wondered what this preachers sermon has to do with God plus he didn't quote any scripture or have prayer.

I don’t know either. My guess is that it was not allowed for whatever reason, despite it being a church service, or perhaps the writers aren’t too familiar with the Bible, and didn’t know where passages about rest would be.

Actually the sermon topic is good, but the pastor needs to speak more down to earth.

Yeah, it's like somebody writing an episode about Hindu's in South India and doing ZERO research into what Hindus believe or how they worship. This was basically just light philosophy about taking life slow. Has nothing to do with Christianity at all. Even though a small town in the South would have had church as a major pillar of their community in 1963.
