This is INSANELY great. So humbled by the level of complexity. This video is a great advertisement to the Japanese people. Looked at the 30min+ video passionately in one time. Bravo to Casio. And also bravo to ghf for your expertise. Wasn’t sure until the end that you would put everything back together. So great. Anyway this makes my decision and I will buy the GST-B300 all Metal positive display I hesitated to buy until now. I will buy it now. Sheers from France.

Quartz watches are the best. My weekday/hand was off by a little and I just connected my watch, went into the settings and clicked on “adjust home positions”. Boom I was able to send the adjustment via Bluetooth w/o having to open up this masterpiece.

You are something else. I envy your patience and stady hands. Great job.

I have two of these watches. This version and the Black and Blue Bluenote Records limited edition. Great video I was always curious how it would look unassembled. Mine are only a couple of years old though and still in very nice shape so I don't have a reason to mess with them. Love the kitty kat as well!

Realy impressing! I watched the video, because I had to change the accu in my B100. It helped a lot! But I have one question: When I opened the Backplate, a tiny steel spring (2mm long, 1mm diameter) jumped off. I have no Idea, where it's comming from. After reassembling my watch without this spring, all worked fine. What could it be?

10:32 Yes it is really cheap. The whole watch is durable and works perfectly. Just the resin which attach with the strap broken. No way to replace. No part to purchase. Send it back to Gshock hope will have good news soon.

A simpler scratch free method for the dials is to use a thread. Cut it into two equal lengths, hold two sides with the right thumb and index, the other sides with the left thumb and index, slide the thread around the dial base, twist the thread by rubbing your fingers to ensure the thread is secure around the base, Remove the dial by Tightening the strings

Might work with regular time keeping watch with just 1 shaft for hour minutes seconds. Not this, the tape is strong and place at unexpected location. Meaning different amount of force is required at different point. Plus, it has a lot of shaft for all of the smaller dials as well.

Hi, congratulation, amazing video!! Can I have a question? I love my GST-B100-1aer, bought it in used condition, works well but the metal bezel has many scratches. Is it possible to swap the bezel only? Do you know where to get an original bezel replacement? Or should I try to polish instead? Thanks so much and again, well done for this great vid!

There are several places online that carry official Casio replacement parts. I'm sure you could track one down.

I've dismantled watches similar before, BUT, I have always bagged and labelled where the screws came from. Have no idea how you can remember how to put all the correct screws back in the correct places - you must have an amazing memory LOL

can you make a video how to replace a battery for this watch model GST 100? tried to replace but could not do it..the rubber seal is unaligned ,,you got some skills cant even do that haha..

I know I'm late to the party... and also because this is my favourite g shock (because its all analog) i might be over thinking a bit here... but I bought one of these about 6 months ago.... and out of the box, it's battery was near empty.... in my attempts to charge it in direct sunlight.... I might have over heated it once(or a couple of times)..... it still works just fine.... I've absolutely no issues whatsoever!!... my question is.. does this warrant a service?? Could the heat from the sun have messed up something I don't yet see?? Also could the heat have compromised its water resistance??I would really appreciate some degree of assurance before I jump the gun and buy a new one😅(not that i won't otherwise.... all analogs are hard to come by in g shocks).... thank you

The hour and minute hand on mine has stopped working, everything else is fine, any ideas?

13:15 - Even for a quartz you should still remove the hands while at the same position I actually have this watch and its been my fav over the last year

Maybe for the Master of G ones since their movements is built differently and more complicated, for these lower end models, the gears and shaft didn't have any marker/pointer on them for alignment. I do however need to assemble them in the same position at 12 index afterwards regardless of which position I pull the hands out. Any other misaligned could be fix by the movement itself through 'hand-adjust function'.

The GST B100 is much more accurate in timekeeping vs MTG B1000, both with or without Bluetooth sync

I haven't tried it yet but sounds possible.

Presto style tool costs 10-15 bucks and few dollars for hand setting tool makes like 20 bucks. Add a plastic tweezer 3$. And a fine thin peace of plastic bag to put over hands to protect them and the dail too. That's not a lot of money.

hei mate! this is totally awesome and i think you are a watch GOD! a couple of questions: at around minute 4:00, when you open the watch, there are three holes that should have three springs in them. what are those springs for? where can you buy replacement parts for this watches? by accident, i broke one of the metal ears that the buttons have. is that something that affects the watch? what are they for?

Springs on the back normally for beeping sound feature. If the button didn't bent or stuck, should be fine. Casio didn't sells that specific part to the public apparently.

but i dont understand one thing.. this battery indicator disk - if it says its low, does it mean the real battery inside is already low? or it means solar cell is almost finished and, if not recharged, it will start taking power from a real battery itself?

It is a battery indicator. The solar cell charges the battery.

@@sagorevach The solar cell CHARGES the battery. So, by logical deduction, they are connected. Don’t you think it would be stupid to put a separate solar cell and battery in the watch ? What use would a solar cell have if you still had to change the battery?

Doesn’t it make perfect sense to you, that the solar cell constantly charges the battery, so the battery stays full, and the watch keeps on working WITHOUT having to change the battery?? A hybrid car ALSO charges the battery when the engine is running, same thing.

I didn't know that this watch had so many screws. I don't think I got enough guts to take mine apart.

casio wouldnt make a mechanical watch. they started the company casio on digital stuff.
