Probably my favorite surfer of all time, forsure. Also my mom use to date Herbie back in the day before Christian and Nate were born.

One of my favorite surfers. Dude is like the Duane Peters of surfing. You would think with as much as he smokes that marlboro would have sponsored him. haha!

Duane is crazy these days..off his rocker..watch his latest youtube videos and ull understand..hes all kind of paranoid and talks about other skaters like trash...skaters that are legends..I think he is hitting the ice pipe too much, he looks and acts like a tweeker now..but Christian is still Christian..solid guy.

Some pretty photography and cool vignette of Christian but wish this went into more about the guy. Always been an gnarly dude and would see him sometimes in Newport. Those original aerials were not only gnarly back then but only he could make them look like that. Lives by his rules. True OG.

what kind of speed you wana talk bout it.? Fletcher is probably one of the most hardcore surfers ever. All types of waves the heavier the better.Surfed with him in late 80s at Mystos. mellow guy

what blows my mind is how Christian can still surf in bali when he pretty much chain smokes. How do you handle a good sized swell with your lungs all blasted

i'm 31 and feeling it... I remember growing up watching comps and he would throw his marlboro down as he took off into the water. just chainsmoking waiting on his heat.

Christian was the inspiration for progressive surfing in the late 80's, He was a hero of mine back then and it is sad to see what he is doing now. Aside from his Trestles win, he could have gone further.
