Wow the memories of this historic home town of mine. Such an awesome place to raise a family. Had so much fun growing up here. so spoiled being right down on the water....1km away from the States. thank you for this!!!!!! Also it was so dope to see one of my former teachers in this video: Mr. Preston, your a legend.

how did i not know about this town . It is exactly what I'm looking for . I grew up in Oakville/Bronte and watched as massive suburbia swallowed everything . Brockville is like what Oakville/Bronte used to be a long time ago . What a perfect gem of a town .

@edwardmacnab354 it was a great place...it's also been decimated by drugs and alcohol. There's not much business there now after the city got the second largest Walmart (at the time) in the province and it was situated right beside the provinces biggest real canadian superstore( again, at the time of it build) those were the substituted businesses we got after the mayer decided to sell the rights of the casino we were supposed to get to a neighboring city called Gananaqua (not sure if properly spelt)

@@lornejacksonn7539 Victoria , where I'm near now , has had it's fair share of drug and homelessness problems . At one time there were needles everywhere and businesses were closing but things have turned around somewhat . As for Oakville , I doubt they are having Drug or homelessness problems as it is a very very wealthy town . A shack in Oakville will sell for a minimum of $1M but it is now literally just one huge suburbia . All the neat places of my youth are gone . I'm sorry to hear about such problems in brockville .What you need there is some visionary leadership that can see the potential in Brockville , not as a growth area but as a VALUE Area . The unfortunate consequence of that would be high real estate prices and a huge influx of people . And so , I better get there soon and make the best of what there is there , drug problems be damned !

Any local transit system? Scant mention of the preserved railway tunnel between the waterfront and near the CN main.

I moved from there about 20years ago now...when I was there the transit system consisted of three busses...red blue and green I believe.....honestly though it's such a tiny place it's not needed...can get too any part of brockville within usually a 15min walk, or 10min bike ride or so.

Like most small to medium towns in Ontario , they don't really like " outsiders" and if you are anything but " white" don't even bother . My wife is Asian and we had a number of bad experiences when visiting Brockville. One of the worst was hearing my wife referred to as " A dirty slant eye" by an employee at the Brockville KFC when we were dining in. The server was In the back when we overheard her say that. W e had been nothing but polite from the time we arrived but after hearing that I went to the counter and raised hell . Of coarse everyone denied saying anything Cowards !!!
