Issa Tomboy Coloring hair can be complicated, you should do some more research on coloring and color itself. Purple is made from a range blue and red. Different amounts/ratios of red and blue pigment decide the hue and intensity of the purpled. Natural dark hair tends to have yellow/orange/reddish undertones especially when you lighten it and remove the brown/black melanin. that could be why the color leaned more towards a reddish color. To achieve the exact color, you want little other pigments that can affect the light reflection of the dye. Bright Purple can be difficult to achieve for some people and often requires a good bleaching/color removing first.

I've been natural for 20 years. In that 20years I used a blow dryer 3 times. 2weeks after Lockdown happened in South Africa I was like you know what, I'ma colour my hair. Colour I chose was Pink. Then I found out that I have to bleach 1st. I was like cool. Did my research, made a short prayer and prepared for the worst. I was like Afro Beans if this is it then this is it. Day 1, 1st week, I bleached the top section of my hair. Day 2, 2nd week, I bleached the middle section of my hair. Then toned Day 3, week 3. I coloured my hair pink. I'd Pre-poo with coconut oil the night before every step. The only thing I've added to my regime is a protein treatment. My hair is Medium Porosity, even though it's bleached. Breakage, nope. Shedding normal. I didn't experience the dryness, brittle etc that everyone spoke of. My wash days are every Sunday, and I Only rehydrate and remoisturise my hair on Wed/Thurs during the week I closed my eyes, made a Prayer and Took the risk and ran with it. Absolutely loving my Hair Journey 💕😍✌️

This helped me so much.. **gets over fear and goes to beauty supply store **
This was super helpful!! I'm dying my hair for the first time, and this definitely sent me on the right track. I appreciate you!
You got me when you said that you stoped straightening your hair, which is exactly what worked for me. What you said helped me! And I’m a straight hair girl. I don’t damage hair unless I’m dying it. I’m blonde now. And I your advice helped! Thank you 🙏!!!
You saved my life with this video . Very thorough and very detailed. It just trumps, everything I was questioning when going from my naturally dark colored hair to the extreme blonde. I mean i was about to leave to go to the store. And I said let me just check to see what worked for someone else with more of the similar texture to mine. Thanks , You Rock!!!
Girl THANK YOU FOR THIS- I was really bout to go neon green but now I know I need to relax. My hair is thick and healthy but I'm gonna give it some time. I might do a darker green instead and on the tips since I have long hair. Gotta preserve what we can

So thankful for this vid!! I just dyed my hair 3 days ago so I need all the tips I can get
My hair is natural and dark brown (about a 3) and I’m going to a professional stylist tomorrow to get red balayage done. I’ve been chickening out (well honestly just nervous about a new look, taking time to research and find a skilled professional and being talked out of it, booking tons of consultations)for a year now but I think I’m ready. I have healthy hair so I’m hoping with the proper care, products and routine hair maintenance, I’ll be fine. Thank you for this video. Send me luck y’all 😭✨

Thanks for your video!Absolutely agree!! SEMI COLOR does NOT damage my hair either.
So yea I definitely bleached my hair to lift the color before tinting it pink & purple and it’s only healthy from following your regimens and a few other youtubers. Cuz I refused to lose my hair and like you’re saying my hair had flourished and still grown with the color in it.
Thanks I now realize ive been doing something wrong. Ive been dyeing my faded red hair and new growth with the same developer strength combined with using permanent hair dye. For this time i luckily have 10 and 30 developer so I can use the 10 to deposit the color on the ends and 30 on the new growth. I also know now that after this dye job i can use semi permanent i didnt even know there was a difference. Thanks again.
Can we all just address the FABULOUS volume and body of hair we're looking at!!!!💖👍🤗🎊🎆❤🎉💋#hairgoals

Thanks Jalen for the video very informative! Your hair as always is bomb!!
I used to have low porosity hair im a type 4 natural btw . After blesaching my hair 2-3 times then using box dye all in two days my hair survived and still looks healthy only thing is now my hair is high porosity i cant explain it. My curls are the same. I still have shrinkage no visible damage only change is now my hair actually obsorbs water withingm seconds vs before bleaching it . I think my hair did so well because it was low porosity so all the altering i did it took very well . but like she said do it at your own risk not everyone has a success story 🤔☺ hope my story helps some of you. ** also i wanted to add that before dying my hair i was doing aloe vera treatments for a month i didnt use much heat little to none just kept my hair moisturized also i hadnt used things like shampoo for a year i only co washed . that might also have affected the reason why my hair did so well with the bleaching it was very healthy before
thank you for this tips, ive never died my hair yet and was thinking of doing it next year by a professional, i learnt a lot in this vid :)) subbed btw!

first off your hair is BEAUTIFUL
You got me over thinking what color I wanna dye my hair next now lol
Great video and I love the hair! I dyed my hair red in March 2022. I used Creme of Nature. Two colors. To maintain healhy hair, I used a deep conditioner and a hot oil treatment every time that i washed my hair. All of the dye has grown out and i still use these products. My hair has maintained good health and has retained length. Steps: Hot oil, rinse, shampoo, rinse, deep conditioner&hot oil (2 plus hours) under a shower cap, rinse, therapuetic leave in for 5 minutes, rinse, leave in moisturizer while hair is drenched, finger comb then hair comb, air dry in large braids. Hasnt failed. Im thinking about dying it again. I learned about finger combing while watching her (NaturalReign) video. ❤
Aww no 🥺 I just bought adore hair dye yesterday I was so excited to dye it today 😂. I’m so glad I found this video before I tried it because I would’ve been so upset when I realized the color didn’t show up 😂😂. I just got my hair back healthy & I’m not consistent with deep conditioning yet so I’ll give it a couple months before permanently dying my hair again lol.
I’ve done every color when I was really short now I’m letting it grow out. It’s growing good. I rather do my own. You learn that way. Deep conditioning is important right after. My hair is naturally curly I’m here for this. Can’t wait till it get your length ❤

This is awesome information, thank you so much! Your hair is gorgeous!! ❤
I'm very guilty of this. I got my hair colored 2 yrs ago red from black. It had to be lifted. I thought she knew what she was doing. She came highly recommended. Here it is 2 yrs later I went from bra strap hair to top of ear length. So red is my favorite color. I'm dealing with my big chop but miss my red. Once the red wore off it left an orange color now it's blonde on top in the middle like a mohawk. I chopped so much off it ain't funny. We live & learn. Thank you for sharing your information!❤
Yes, but the semi permanent colors are Cellophane products. It's not like hair die which strips your hair. Cellophane deposits the pigment onto the hair. Plus cellophane coats the hair and fills in the gaps, which are good for high porosity hair. I've done it for years. It's amazing for our hair.
Dying my mixed friends hair in a few days, this was super helpful!!

I deep conditioner every wash day too! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank youuuuu~~~. Came out right when I was about to buy some black dye lol. (I'm still doing it, it's just semi permanent :))

I once box dyed my hair blonde,😂 my hair turned out to be a bright orange.🤣 I was in the military that was a no. I was washing my hair everyday trying to get that color out my hair. I was on leave for 30 days. That helped some. But that orange faded in to a pretty light chestnut.

I’m here because I want to dye my hair🥲thank you for these tips ! You have a new subscriber 😁
I was on the right track then, since I only want to dye mines mahogany or purple🤣😂. Chocolate brown was even an option way before I ever thought of blonde. But I have definitely have had some experience with these things before when I dyed my hair the first time, in which I dyed it red when I originally did the big chop. I have always had the routine of deep conditioning my hair after every wash. Although, my definition of a deep conditioner is a lot different than everyone else's. I usually don't use deep conditioners themselves because they irritate my terribly sensitive skin or make my hair feel like it's as dry as a bone afterwards. So I use my regular conditioner as a deep conditioner, I just leave it on for 30 minutes or so and then wash it out. Afterwards, I lock in the moisture from the water with oils or use a water based moisturizer with water and oils. This has allowed me to maintain my hair for the longest, but I learned this over time not right away. I feel like my hair is in good condition considering the fact that I have paid a lot of attention to it by avoiding heat, damaging styles, and color, but I do wonder sometimes. I may be in desperate need of a trim, but I have little to no trust in hairdressers because of a past trauma where I had patches of hair falling out, I also haven't attempted it myself either. It's going on four years and I'd be lying to say I'm not worried. And just when I found a stylist that I felt like I could trust Rona got in my way.
Gorgeous hair!! Just subscribed. Great presentation.
I got my hair done by my auntie and she’s a professional and my hair got damaged as f*ck it was ugly kinda dry I was thinking about cutting it and start over, I used to feel really ugly cuze my hair use to get a lot of compliments as you can imagine at college . But I didn’t cut it and wait till it got better and now I’m here with my hair and people just love it 😊 💓.
The only thing that got my curl pattern back was cutting off all the damage 😩 I'm still trying to get used to my hair being much shorter
I have 4b high porosity dark brown hair and I want to go to honey blonde with a box dye , Will I be able to do that without my hair being damaged
I have a question! Did you dye your hair from root to tip? Are your curls at the roots tighter than your curls on your ends due to the new growth?
I just started dying my hair this year. I used box dye both times though. My curls always remained intact. My hair is short though so 🤷🏽♀️
Man my hair used to be so long, and over time it got damaged from perms. It's been years and I have not used a perm at all. My hair isn't as long as it used to be but it's slowly growing back. I want to dye my hair though so I've been watching numerous videos before doing it. And this is my first time dying it.

Idk if this plan will work ,but I want to dye my hair again but this time I want to use a 20 developer over time. So I’ll be able to lighten my hair 1-2 shades and then wait a while before I want to lighten it again until I’m satisfied and add color. I’m not a professional but I was thinking why not since my hair will grow back and I’m not getting any younger.
