Beautifully spoken. Such wisdom, truth and humility in your words. You sat with me through videos while I attempted to paint a 40 ft. Mural in a small business that we were opening last year. Your voice was the only one that i heard in that big empty building. Thanks Joe. I appreciate you!

Hi Joe, been a budding artist for the last 59 years. Have to say I've learned so much more from your clear, enthusiastic, engaging and informative videos than so many so called "technical" artists out there making art some kind of heavy degree that puts up barriers rather than the way it should be, fun and fulfilling. Your strength is sharing that, thank you.

I enjoy your method of teaching especially when we get to watch you do a livestream painting and you’re analyzing what you’re doing and explaining it as you go. I also relate 💯 % to how you don’t enjoy the advertising and selling aspect. It’s a totally different energy than the flow of putting ones soul into the artwork.

I just found you again after watch it mg some of your videos when I first started to paint. I love your honesty and appearance of not being “too polished”. Your newer video seems to really focus more on explaining the process as well as “why” the lighting and why things appear the way they do. This helps a lot!!! If my shape is not excels like what your shape is, it’s going to react to light and darkness different than yours (Or anyone else’s that I’m trying to paint). So this helps me figure out where high lights and shadows should go. I purchased your water and wave bundle because of your honesty and your apparent desire (you appear to care) if I get what your explaining. That and your sincerity made me want to help your business and also gave me faith that I would find your product worth the purchase. Keep being you Joe! Thank you for being you!!!

I wish you the best for each day and continue success in every project you have. Remember, the more you give, the more you will receive! In your case your returns will be 100 times more. Love your personality and the way you teach. Keep going and continue being YOU! Blessings and be safe.

Thanks for keeping it super real Joe! I've been watching for a couple years now and I've found you to be so humble and relatable. I went to art school and tried to make a go at being a freelance artist. I learned the art of caricature at Sea World and tried to grow this into a business. Ultimately I've gone on to become an art teacher and it has become very satisfying. I know it fits the cliche so hard about being a failed artist so then subsequently teaching but I've found that it quenches my thirst to find meaning in my job and allows me to help others to create which is what I am passionate about. Plus I now have summers off! I can relate to what you said about the sales part. I think that being a sales person is a real skill and it takes real dedication and motivation. All I want to do is make art at my leisure and dive into it in any old way I want when I want. I now do art shows with my Dad who is also an artist. Much respect for you Joe and by the way I have learned a lot about your observations on color and light blending together and the way light interacts with surfaces. Super valuable information. Keep doing what you love Joe. It has been fun watching you grow and share what you love. Peace out.

You are amazing! My only surprise is that it took any amount of time for you to be successful on the internet. Side note: I would like you to go to the doctor and have your throat checked out. (yes I am a mother and you have sounded croaky longer than you should). Also, you should try a feather duster for clouds. You have used teddy bears, brushes etc...time to try a feather duster :) I don't mean the long ones but the one that has a handle (imagine a toilet plunger) and feathers fanning out at the end. Likely available in a dollar store/walmart. Best wishes for continued, well deserved success!

Hey Joe! I'm painting my first mural and wondering if you could help me figuring this out. I started by painting a giant tree in the corner, which is already pretty awkward. My vision was also to have the branches extend across the ceiling. But I'm having trouble getting the perspective to make sense with the angles between the wall and the ceiling. In hindsight, I wish I would have invested in a projector and made my life so much easier. But the damage is done. Haha. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance. Your work is amazing!

I've been on youtube since 2007. I miss the old days when it wasn't about money or being popular. People posted here because they wanted to talk to other like minded individuals and have fun. All I see now on youtube is vanity and dishonesty. I have so much to say against youtube I'm thinking of making a series about it. I have not and never will monetize. I think it was a bad move when they did that. One of many bad move that youtube keeps making. I refuse to give ads to my watchers and I never joined to make money as this is not what this used to be about. It was originally meant to be fun. Also everyone's focused on the "one thing". I have been and always will be a variety channel. I also strongly think that you post what you want the right people will come to you. My channel I mostly post about exotic plants but also birds, my digital art and characters, travel, vehicles and really whatever I feel like when I feel like. I refuse to give youtube a cut of my money so that's another reason I'll never have ads here. People are such slaves to this system and I hate that. Hence all the annoying begging for subscribers and thumbs. Vanity and pointlessness. I'm glad you have a real job at least where you go to houses and business and paint something. I have no doubt you'd survive without the channel.

Also you need content that catches the eye and mind of a viewer. For example "Mural artist tries painting in Bob Ross style". It is not the painting but the idea to catch more mainstream viewers. "Mural artist tries cheapest paint he can find". "How to make your bedroom wall look like a safari". Every idea in my opinion has that nugget of excitement hidden into it. You wonder what it will be, how it will turn out or how silly it will look in the end. Get out of your comfort zone to provide entertainment. Something like "Professional landscape artist tries 3D perspective art and fails miserably". Don't be afraid to call your self a professional and don't be afraid to fail/be silly as these things will bring the most entertainment for your viewers. Also I'm not sure what is your audience. Does it consist of artists that learn from you like they learn from art lessons? Or KZread lurkers like me that watch any entertaining videos that they can find. I think it would be great to understand your audience's background. During your videos ask people to give you ideas on what you should do or what they would want to see and pick which ones you like the most or you can relate to. Anyone reading this comment, let me know if you can relate, if not, please also let me know! Well sorry for the long-winded comment! These ideas are just a food for thought not more!
