No I’m literally in a multimedia major and the advice you’re giving is what they teach us in class. Short and sweet, concise, chunks of info, fit it to the platform and fit it to your niche.

I love Tucker's content because he just seems like a fun dude to drink a beer with while making mountains out of mole hills of minor inconveniences.

I love that you're aggressive, but instead of anger it's just this sort of frenetic niceness. Like if you lost it one day you'd run outside, grab the nearest person, and then life coach the bejesus out of them until they achieved their lifelong dreams.

The first word that came immediately to mind when I thought about why your stuff is good was editing. Your timing and cuts are perfect and make everything so much funnier

Honestly, I love the captions, not just because they trick my monkey brain and are attention grabbing. I also love them because I often have trouble understanding people when they talk fast. Captions help me understand the jokes better.

_"People aren't really coming to see what you talk about, they're coming to see you talk ABOUT it."_ That's so on the money. I have no interest in making my own content, but I clicked this video as soon as I saw it because I like listening to you talk and knew I'd enjoy it. It's guaranteed that a BigTugg video is going to be entertaining as hell.

KZread is consistently my favorite social media app because it is long form. We really get to know content creators and feel like they're friends and enjoy seeing their journey!! Also, ya, commenters are way nicer over here. Pumped to see you making long form content, I think it's the best way to build a long term content creating career

Captions are also considered a necessity for a lot of people and can help get an audience with the d/Deaf community. Captions allow them to be able to watch your content and know what you're saying, and I know some hearing people that purposefully try to avoid creators who dont do captions to show support.

Yet Tugg specifically makes his captions incredibly fast-paced. I'd imagine anyone from that community would appreciate something slower? And that just sounds mean. To avoid content creators who don't do captions to support the deaf community? What if that content creator was just struggling to edit captions into their videos? And as portrayed by Tugg, since the video has to be fast-paced, the captions have to be fast-paced too. It just seems so trivial to not watch this content to "support" the deaf community (when I doubt it actually helps them) yet you can't bother to support a content creator that maybe with more support, would eventually add captions? You're also directly supporting the content creator by watching their content. But you're not directly supporting the deaf community by not watching their content. You're just doing nothing by then. If the deaf community needed captions that badly, then they'll just look to other creators who make captions or turn auto-generated captions on.

as you can see, tugg puts captions in his short form content, and that is because youtube already has an in-built cc. and no, tugg specifically talks about "fast paced captions" studies suggests that they help audiences stay as it feeds our little monkey brains with enough information every second to the point where we wont have to scroll down.

4:11 It reminds me of one summer day in the park. I was having just a delightful picnic with my good friend Orville, and I said to him - I said "Orville, I-I have a story." And he said to me "What's the significance of the story?" and... I said to him "O-Orville, not every story has to have significance, y'know? Sometimes, uh, y'know, sometimes a story is just a story. You try to read into every little thing and find meaning in everything anyone says you'll just drive yourself crazy. Had a friend do it once - Wasn't pretty. We talked about it for years. And not only that, but you'll likely end up believing something you shouldn't believe, thinking something you shouldn't think, o-or assuming something you shouldn't assume, y'know?" Sometimes I said "A story is-is just a story, so just be quiet for one second in life and eat your sandwich, okay?" Of course, it was only then I realized I'd made sandwiches. Poor Orville was... having such difficulty eating it. Elephants have those clumsy hands, y'know? Actually, I-I suppose that's the problem. They don't have hands at all, do they? The-they're all feet! An-I-I couldn't imagine someone asking me to eat a sandwich with my feet. Now, if I recall correctly there was a bakery nearby. I said to him, "Orville, let me go get you some rye bread." Now, I-I'm unsure if elephants enjoy rye bread, but I assure you that Orville does. Now this was on a Tuesday, which was good because rye bread was always fresh on Tuesday. They made sourdough bread on Monday, and threw it out Wednesday... or rather they sold it at a discount for people wanting to feed the ducks, and probably at the end of the day finally they threw it all out - I don't recall. I do remember a man who would bring his son to the bakery every Wednesday and go feed the ducks. He would buy all of the sourdough bread. Of course, y'know, you're not supposed to feed the ducks sourdough bread at all. It swells up in their stomach and then they all die. At, uh.. at least... at least that's what I've heard. Y'know I-I never saw any ducks die myself, but I did notice a substantial decrease in the duck population over the course of a few years. I just never thought to stop the man and tell him that he was killing the ducks by feeding them sourdough bread! And if you want my opinion on the matter, heh - and I told Orville this as well - "If you wanna feed ducks, or birds, or any kind for that matter, it's best to buy seed." I mean, when you think about it, breads of any sort don't occur in nature. They don't grow on trees, or spring up from the bushes. I don't think birds know what to do with bread. What was I saying? Oh-oh, yes yes. So I bought Orville some rye bread. What a fine day it was. (If you know where this is from you either absolutely love the character that said this or absolutely despise him. There’s probably not an in between.) Also I can handle every single hate comment except for somebody telling me to 📴 myself. As a person who’s actually thought about it (I’m ok now) it could just go downhill. And it’s just really fucked up to say.

What I love most about your videos is just how unabashed you are, its a good confidence boost to get me back to the same mindset. Lifes too fleeting to give a shit about stimming in public or telling someone their outift is nice. I think you just come across as really personable, and yadda yadda parasocial relationships and all, but its just you can see how different people approach being on camera and its like you just turn the dial from 11 to 12 or something. And I really love the chaotic nature of your longform stuff, youre one of the few people whos short form stuff I regularly try and watch too. Thanks for your hardwork Mr. Tugg!

Dude the short captions thing is gold. My older Pavlov videos took me forever to make specifically because I HAD to put captions because I felt like it helped so much

The captions help for those of us with audio processing issues. So even if you did think we were dumb, you're also being helpful!

I feel like there is so much more here than just tricking the brain. By telling us your “tricks” you are being transparent with your audience, and that in and of itself makes for pretty good content! It can’t happen all the time but a peak behind the curtain is refreshing

People like me genuinely appreciate the captions because auto-generated captions really suck and it's great to have them already there and not have to interpret what you're saying. Also, the large font is easy to read and a lot of people watch tik tok and shorts with no audio as well so captions make it more likely for people to watch your stuff even if they can't hear you, so I don't think it makes your audience seem dumb
