What You NEED to Know When Repairing a Hypalon Inflatable Dinghy
The original repair was for a few pinholes that we got when we ran up on some sharp debris close to shore in our highfield hypalon inflatable dinghy. We used the 1-part M.E.K. based repair glue that came with the dinghy to do the repair and I think the biggest things I did wrong were
-Too much pressure in the tube during repair/cure
-too much glue on the repair because I didnt cut down the brush bristles

I did the dumb thing of forgetting to sand both the patch and dinghy, I sanded the dinghy and the glue I used stuck like S to a blanket but on the unsanded patch no glue stuck at all and I was able to peel the patch off like it was a bit of wet paper stuck on there. Great video!!

If you use masking tape before you glue you won't have to clean any glue off later!!!!

Hypalon is part fabric, part PVC and the fabric component is pretty obvious when compared to PVC.
How do I stick a PVC patch onto a hypalon boat?

First apply PVC glue, two coats, on the PVC part and let it fully cure for at least 24hrs. Then very gently sand the PVC glue and treat it as it was a normal hypalon or rubber part. I know the answer is 9 months late... might be useful to somebody else.

I have a JP 430 hypertek boat with open seam. I wonder if it repairable? I have ask a couple people and they all say no it is not. Please advice.
Poblem is that this glue doesnt have a long shelf life, so when you need ot on Mexico, youre screwed.
