I have Permanently disabled the god damn Stop-Stop, I hope I can replace the AGM with a Wet Cell when it needs replacement. If I have to keep the AGM, perhaps a smaller version.

Great video and very informative! I got recently a vehicle with stop/start and was intimidated by the tech jargon. It seems these batteries aren't rocket science, though. I am familiar with AGMs and lithium tech which is far more advanced. I suspect my car has a large parasitic draw as it drains EFB battery overnight, so the engine barely starts and it seems the load gets stronger and stronger every day! I even needed to jump start it at some point. I disconnect battery for now when leaving the car for longer until I get it sorted. Two load testers reported battery is in a good health and I can see alternator generates charge. I wish it didn't take a few deep discharge hits, but I will check its age.

How do you know if your battery needs to be registered?

If you have a Beamer, it is pretty much Mandatory, as it will throw a Code. My friend just ignores it

Look for electrical connectors on the negative terminal of the battery. Most cars with start-stop have to be programmed

Also disconnect from the car, but you can test with a load tester.

Best advice is to use an insulated socket set unlike the one used on the video to avoid nasty accidents…

What??? To change a battery at every 5 years???😂😱 I just have the original battery of my car from 2008 and still working🤔👍🏻 but even it has that start stop crap I anulate that from the begining😁 so the battery has more than 15 years old so should I change it??? I ask myself should I change the windows of my car just for prevention you don't know if will broke?😂🤔

It all depends on how much you depend on your car and what the consequences will be if the battery were to fail. If it's a car only used for pleasure at the weekends for example, replacing it only when it fails wouldn't be a problem. However, if it's a car used every day to get to work, replacing it every 3-5 years makes sense. Like everything in life, it's risk (of not starting) vs reward (of not having to pay for a replacement).

@@jpro3000 it's the second car and I use it every day but if will fail I will go with the second one😁 bigger but realiable because that has only 5 years old but even so you are right everything will die some day 😭 but even so we have the hope not to😉 or not today. Best regards.
