I literally opened up KZread to search “understanding white balance”, but first I clicked on subscriptions, and this was just posted!!
I can never get enough of tutorials. The more the merrier. And I like this guy being the new face of the channel.
I'm training my team on video production, and this is a good explanation of white balance. Thanks for your work on this and sharing it out.
Thank you for this. I recently purchased my first video camera and was confused by white balance settings. Thought I had it all backwards, so your explanation has helped, somewhat. Basically, I just set the temperature to what ever gives me the look I want. I don't use auto WB, or auto for any other settings. Don't seem to have any luck with auto.
i always remember one of my colleagues in media studies who put it into auto detect and it got confused and kept changing from daylight to fluro which made the edit an absolute nightmare.
This is a great example for a beginner like me. Thank you for explaining well.
I enjoyed that. Thanks 😊
Thanks for Explaining what White Balance Are! Thanks!
Thank you so much. this was awesome !!!
Awesome explanation of white balance! Nice video!
I like this guy
What if I want to retain the warmth of a lamp or tungsten? Should I white balance the correct Kelvin then make it warm/oranger in post, or should I do that in-camera by putting in the 'wrong' white balance, making the lamp light seem warm like the human eye is seeing it? Thanks!
You, my good sir, made a very entertaining and very educational video 😁
So what would you set white balance at when you’re shooting pre-sunrise or post sunset? I love your videos. Thank you
Great video man
If I record multiple scene during a cloudy day outside when cloud may let the sun shine and cove it after some time do you need to recalibrate WB each time I record a new clip or I should keep a fixed WB?
Thankful 👍🏾
Thank you. Good tutorial.
Yes.
It was a great explanation tks for all I have one question important the range of white balance is valid for any digital cameras or can be change ?
Great video
I'm grateful 🔥♥️ no dislikes lets keep it positive guys.. Thanks for this informative video 🙏
Nice! Thanks! Where is Todd?
If I have a let's say candle and I want to get the white blance for it. On my GH5 I use the automate white balance. I hold it over a white point and click OK. Then I get the problem you showed. If a light is like 2700K should I set the White Balance to 2700 manually aswell to get the orange tones in my picture? THis is the things that confuses me a lot.

If you want to keep the orange light in your candle picture, you should set the white balance further toward the cold balance to retain the warmth of the image. Somewhere around 4500-5000k.

Hey man, I know this video is a year old but I really needed to say this. I’m the type of guy who actually finds “bad jokes” funny. Like, when nobody else in the room laughs or gives a fake laugh, I’m laughing my ass off. With that said, the “tide” joke was hands down the worst joke I’ve ever heard in my entire life, and trust me, I’ve heard a lot. I tried my hardest to laugh, but I could not. Sorry. The video was awesome and very informative!! +1 subscriber if you promise to never make a joke again!🤣 (Now I can unpause the video, I just really really needed to say that)
I almost dislike
