The game's going strong!! It may have stopped getting updated by the devs but the community is keeping it alive. Sure we have our moments but the highs like this pay off so much. Don't listen to the haters, the gloomers and all the toxic people. We play and watch because we love this game and we love the players. Also just wanted to add that steve was NOT banned this tourney and we still didn't get to see any steve or game & watch in top 8

Yeah but he is carried by Rob imo if you're going to talk smack you need to play a character that takes some more skill. I mean watch the set with spargo the only reason he won that was because of down tilt and gyro. No, being cocky doesn't make you fun to watch, it usually makes you disliked. Also, 18 is not a kid, he's young but not a kid. Finally, him being immature and young doesn't mean we should support or enjoy his antics, he should be pushed to behave like a man of 18 years of age and not a cocky entitled child. But hey, I'm talking to a bunch of immature children who see themselves reflected in his character, hence their support of him.

Even tho Zomba is a cocky mf, you can't really hate. He fought his way through gluto,Tweek,Spargo,and Sonix twice. Gotta give credit where credit is deserved.

Well he technically did get semi-lucky that he didn’t run into Miya or Maister at any point. Still his skills are to be recognized because defeating the #6, #5, #3 and #2 players in the world is extremely impressive.

I don’t like Zomba frr, but the confidence to say all that during a post patch interview. And still end up winning the entire tournament. He has my full respect. He has the mouth and the skills to back it up

I love that Zomba's embracing his villain arc, he works really hard and travels a lot to compete despite being a free agent, I don't really like his attitude but you gotta respect the commitment and passion he brings to the table, a well deserved win for someone's who's slowly becoming the biggest Villain in Ultimate's history. There's not enough storylines going on, this one's bound to be exciting because people often forget that when a Villain gets really powerful, the heroes rise up to the challenge.

Man Miya was definitely playing scared in that winners set against Raflow. Raflow should've lost after D-tilting in the wrong direction the first time, but Miya didn't capitalize on it.

Miya has had some stellar overseas results in the past, with winning Rise N' Grind and getting 2nd at Port Priority 8. I definitely believe he was not playing at his best tho. Maybe it's the new year and new ranking season pressure or he was just having a bad day, not feeling the best, who knows.

Miya had some practice issues back in his country. For some reason a ton of Japanese smashers would block him mid or post set on smashmate (a grinding website that is really good for grinding and has made Miya and Acola to where they are today) because of his character choices. That really demotivated Miya so he took a 2 week break from smash, then when he came back he only practiced with Mii Sword Fighter until a few days before Genesis started.

I literally have a similar screenshot, but I have to say it did seem like sonix walked into frame after zomba began reaching for the phone.

This tournament was really great. It had lots of upsets and many great sets. But it wasn't flawless. I know it's really hard to organize a tournament especially this grand size, but I'd expect by the 10th Genesis they'd know how to run a stream. Many editing technical mishaps and I'm not sure I agree with having only 2 streams where they constantly running ads at the same time and never stream any losers match where the biggest upsets happen. Kind of disappointed. But the matches sure payed off and I bet it must have been a great event to be at.
