I think by now, most of us are here for you guys. Your personality. Your comradery. Feel free to do whatever you want. We'll tune in.
Don’t worry about who it helps. It’s just really entertaining watching reactions about rare bottles. We all know what rare breed taste like

I agree. Both are worth watching.
Maker’s Mark: Tackle Box Aged 😂
I stopped caring about allocated stuff a long time ago. There is so much good whiskey that is easy to find. No stress, no waiting, no ridiculous prices, etc.

Store picks from your fav labels/distillers. Thats what I hunt. Laws sauternes cask and old potero rye store pick. Best two bottles I've ever come across.

This is what anyone that likes to argue loves to say.
I have 2 shows I would love to see. 1. Review your barrel picks blind and see what ranks the best. 2. Take 3 distilleries and get a bourbon and rye from them and blind them against each other. Which is better from each distillery and then the overall favorite of the group!
There is value in reviewing hard to find bottles. First it confirms if it really is desirable. Second it prepares you if you have a slight chance to actually see it and have to make a decision. Third it gives a reading on the distillery.
Left this comment a few videos ago, but now I’m sold it’s a good idea for a new game show Friday blind! Both of you have $100 to wager. There are 6 blind bottles you taste and then bid on. Both must end with 3 bottles and minimum bid for a bottle is $15. That way you can go a bit crazy on a bottle but you can’t spend it all. Then who vote who has built the better lineup.

such a good idea - still like it!
I appreciate that you want your videos to be relatable and the bottles you review to be accessible. However, when comes to unicorn/rare whiskies, I assume many of us would rather experience it vicariously than not at all. Whether we get to taste the juice or not, half the fun is just kicking back and talking about it… and we’re glad to listen.
My theory: Trenton's only experience with a tackle box was one that belonged to someone who kept a tobacco pipe in his tackle box.
I love the message at the end of this video. I think that happiness is more important and valuable than money, and if someone's circumstances allow them to spend a little extra money on something that will bring happiness into their lives and others around them, that's a beautiful thing 👍
Nothing better than waking up and starting my day with these videos. Keep getting creative with the content.
I paid $175 for a Blantons Gold just because I'd probably never see another. The extra 10 proof is good. I'll have it a couple years and I'm glad I purchased the bottle😊

I truly hope you aren’t crying about paying $175 for Gold! I pay $215+ lol
Kurt just argued that he doesn’t like to argue .😂
You two are my favorite whiskeytubers I love your opinions and I find that I keep my bourbon hunting in line with how you all go about the hunt!
paid 900 dollars for a George T Stagg 2022, not even mad, it's kinda nice to have one singular bottle that is obviously the best in my collection, saves me the hassle of thinking when anybody asks 😂
I love the subject of talking about what bottles people would actually pay full secondary or partial secondary for, because there are some bottles that I would overpay for, but it's nice to hear other people's opinion to verify my thinking. Hope to see more episodes covering this topic.
Really enjoyed this one!! It shows the knowledge that you have about Bourbon!!
Great video. Love when you all mix it up.
Great video as always guys, cheers and have a great holiday!
Loved this video Trent, and I like your Dad’s honesty!
I doubt I would ever buy anything off of the secondary regardless of how good it is, but this was still an entertaining and educational video. Thanks Guys!
I love it! Great honest review!
I think this is a great show idea, you guys should do more of these but without tips on the bottles status before reveal. The blind guess on price and then the reveal discussion as to if it changed is fantastic.
Hey guys, just wanted to say I’ve recently found your channel and greatly enjoy your content. Thanks for the informative, interesting and frankly relaxing videos. Keep it up!
Absolutely loved this!
I absolutely loved this video! The emotion of the memories made of sharing a bottle of bourbon. I’d pay over msrp in reason, my brother and I have shared some great moments around a great pour. Keep em coming guys!! Cheer’s 🍸🍹
Awesome video! I love the opinions on secondary pricing!
If everyone refused to buy secondary, there wouldn't be a secondary market.

But this will never happen. There will always be people with more money than senses. It's just the way she goes. I won't pay secondary but I'll occasionally help out a little shop if they have a reasonable markup for a hard to find bottle (less than secondary but more than msrp)

Unfortunately, too many deep pockets don't care.
Since the video mainly discussed secondary, here's MSRP in my ABC state: Makers: $150 Antique: $59 WT MK: $275 (generations $450) Blanton's SFTB: $160
Those prices are why beyond what I could afford for a bottle of bourbon
This is great, because Kurt is so against paying secondary it gives a good idea of how good some of these products are!
I’m not a fisher….priceless .
Loved this video, and I’d love to see more editions of this! I think a fun twist on this would be a “competition-esque” style of video where each of y’all give each other 2-4 pours to guess the price of, and the “winner” is the one who was able to make the other guess the largest difference from the pours actual price (either way, lower or higher)! I think it’s a great way to showcase some amazing values, and also some pitfalls for unsuspecting consumers.
Love your videos. I am in Iowa and can't find any of those bottles so I would think seriously if I saw one of paying secondary just to taste one of those wonderful bottles. Keep up the good work. You are my favorite whiskey channel.
I am stopping this @5:03 to post that I already know this is my favorite line of this entire video, "I took you on one fishing trip and you stuck a stick in Korey's ear. So that's kinda how that went." - Kurt. That is gem right there...love it! 🎣♥
All of your videos are helpful gentlemen. This one is interesting.
Like this idea Trenton! Agree it’s a person’s choice to spend the extra to garner something that may be a unicorn for them but one they are willing to pay for. I agree with the Blanton’s as it’s one my list. Keep holding out I’ll find it or luck into it through one of the lotto picks. Guess we’ll see!
🎉 I have those Longbranch glasses you use. It is fun to purchase the gift sets. I’ve found some tasty pours. Longbranch was a bit disappointing for me. As for this video, you all make me curious about those unicorns and rares.
It’s great to hear honest opinions and feedback on prices for secondary! Agreed the Makers Mark Cellar Aged is delicious!
I think the market/state your in dictates the secondary market price. I live in Wisconsin a bottle of Blantons SFTB costs about $300-$400 depending on if you frequent the store and have a good relationship with the owner. Or win in it a lottery for MSRP. Great video as always 👍🏻🥃🇺🇸
Enjoyed this video.
Reviews of hard to find bottles are very entertaining and as previously mentioned, prepares us to make an informed decision if we get an opportunity to buy one.
Ive overpaid for 3 bottles. Weller Antique 107 I paid $100, Weller 12yr $125, and a John J Bowman SiB $100. I don't regret any of those purchases.
A fun video/game style video. “Unicorn hunter”. You do a 4 bottle blind. 2 of them are unicorns, 2 are shelf available. See if you can pick out which is which
I think we have to understand that even with the bourbon bubble slowly popping (which obviously will still be bigger than anytime before 2020), we’re gonna see these bottles released at high prices. People with high income treat these as collectibles (probably for good reason - can you imagine how big the next craze is gonna be when something else out of people’s control causes another boom?) and the distillers know this. They will continue to do these releases because its human nature to want to feel exclusive.
You did well on this Kurt!
I enjoy the content around allocated bottles more than I do the shelfers because I do get the opportunity at my store to pick a few rare bottles a year. I want to make sure I pick right. And also it’s just fun. I watch you all for entertainment; I already know what Wild Turkey 101 tastes like haha.
Love watching your vids, always great info and entertainment. I shared a bottle of 10 yr Van Winkle with family at Christmas that I paid $500 for. It was worth it that once, but won't pay that again.
Very good show, I don't know that I would ever buy any of these at secondary price (if I saw them) but still interesting to hear about them. I have had Weller Antique at MSRP (in Ohio) and loved it. I'm with Kurt on paying too much. I can find a number of great bourbons for under $80, so why pay more. I drink mine, not collect them. TonyB

I've seen a handful of channels who've had Weller Antique talk about what they'd pay for *another* bottle of it. Not a single channel -- except for this one -- say they'd pay secondary for it.
Blanton's Straight From the Barrel should be the way all Blanton's is made. Then it would be worthy of the hype it gets.
Doing my part in the whiskey price game and not buying anything over 80 bucks...that leaves me out of a lot of bottles but there is so much good stuff out there under 80...
I just can't pay $100 or more for Antique when I used to get it for $30-$35, just several years ago. It hasn't become 3x or more better in that time. There are better bottles in the $100+ range, at least to me.
Great blind! I would love to try all of those bottles.. I bet that Masters Keep is amazing! 🥃
I’d like to have seen this video without Trenton swaying Kurt’s decision by giving “this is a unicorn” hints. Could be interesting if these unicorns were ranked without knowing their status. Maybe even peppering in some shelfers as well.

Taste doesn't always dictate the price. With these unicorn bottles availability dictates the price as much as or more than the taste. Rarity is a factor worth considering when judging the price of a bottle.

Personally, I didn’t mind it. Sometimes you change your mind once you have that info. If it were something I really liked and said $100 and then found out that it could rarely be had, I might change my mind. Prices are functions of both supply AND demand. You can’t completely put the supply part of that aside as you make your decision.

Paid $129.99 for a rock hill farms single barrel at a local shop. I don't regret it. I only sip it on my wedding anniversary and new years.
Trenton and Kurton stay keepin it real 💯
I think there's a lot of value in tasting/reviewing hard to find bottles. It at least helps inform people on the bottle should they happen across one at some point and time and help them decide if it's something they want to pick up or not.
Funny there are only two bottles that have thought that maybe I'd pay secondary for; Maker's Cellar aged and Wild Turkey BiB 17 Year Old. And you have both in this video! Sort of crazy. I never had the Wild Turkey, but did get a few pours of the MMCA at a bar and love it.
Really interesting video guys. I think you do these blinds the best of all the bourbon channels on youtube. I am curious though, if you could only buy one between MMCA and ECC921 which would you buy and how much in the secondary would you pay?
Appreciate the efforts you guys go to for these videos. That being said, sometimes you tend to over think the simple. This was a great video idea, but would just ask 2 questions A) what's your guess at MSRP, B) what's the most you'd pay for it? Release year, unicorn status, yada yada can be discussed afterwards. But it's great to get the opinion solely based on what's in the glass.
The only one of those bottles that I have is the antique 107. Just picked up 2 bottles last week for 70 a bottle. I think it’s pretty good. Won’t pay much more for it. I don’t pay secondary for anything really.

I just don’t want to pay secondary. I wait to see if I find stuff at msrp. New Hampshire is tough though. This was even the first antique 107 I’ve seen in a couple years. State run liquor. They mostly just give this stuff out only at contest time. Win the chance to buy.
I’ll probably never buy anything above $100 because of my budget. But I enjoy any video that you provide.
One of my absolute favorite bottles I have that I paid secondary for and would do again is RR Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson F. Its a fantastic sip
I just picked up a bottle of the Blantons straight from the barrel. Ohlq did a special drop at my local store.
I paid 300 for my first Stagg batch 15. It was amazing , but ever since I’ve bought 5 more.only difference is I only paid 55 bucks.
Great video
Saw a Heaven Hill 18 in the wild. Stopped me cold when they were asking $650 😢
I paid secondary for jack 12, glad I did, don't know if I would again.

It’s 450 secondary at my favorite store. All his other prices of on the shelf stuff is great.
I' just don't pay secondary...but I'll pay my local retail stores price... I bout a Weller 12 for 112...I bought a stagg jr for $199....it's about sharing with friends and family which is what we do 🥃 cheers
Hey, pipes are making a comeback! There's a whole you tube pipe community out there, and it's not just geezers. A good pipe pairs well with bourbon.
Hey guys I just started watching and just got into bourbon maybe a year ago. Some of my favorites are RR 10 and single barrel, Henry McKenna 10bib, OF1920, MM cask strength, 4R single barrel and wilderness trail. I thought a march madness elite 8 style bracket done blind over a couple episodes would be a great idea. Keep up the great videos!
I liked this video!
I haven’t paid secondary yet but I understand why people do on the things they’ve actually tried and like
Not myself but my buddy bought a Penelope Rio at secondary after trying mine, that’s such a unique bottle unlike anything else in either of our collections. He felt it was worth having that as a “Wow factor” pour.
This gives me ideas for that very Special Bottle to have for that very special event or gathering...
Great video. I liked the format. It’s nice to get a somewhat realistic gauge on scarcity and value and not just a blanket “I wouldn’t pay over 80” for every bottle. Every viewer would pay 200 for that mmca or wtmk in a heart beat.
@BeThere_BestServedNeatOnIce

Pay 200 for the Cellar Aged or Master's Keep? To flip 'em, I would. For drinking, myself? *Absolutely not* .
I usually only tend to pay secondary for Michter's special releases. In my area, they are rarely seen so you have to pay a little extra when you find them.
I got Weller Antique 107 for MSRP. Had the opportunity to get a Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel at MSRP from a Virginia ABC drop, but I took Elmer T. Lee instead as I’m not a huge Blanton’s fan, while I do like Elmer T. Lee and it was only $40.

I just paid yesterday for ETL $100. I was never able to ding it at that price so….is mine now
Good show.
Guys, great stuff as usual... had a question for you... noted that you said that you don't like really "hot" bourbons... why don't you guys ever add a few splashes of water to the really high proof bourbons? Don't those high proof bourbons actually open up a lot more flavors after adding a few drops of water?
ECBP C923 for 150 is my favorite secondary go-to right now.
A cool guy let me try some of his Blanton’s SFTB that he got at MSRP. It was good, but it drank super hot.
13DO, PHCDB, and OCDP are the ones I would pay secondary for.
Though I'd like to try them all, the 107 is the only bottle I've had, will gladly continue to pursue that as long as its reasonable. The first one I bought was $50 (yes) the second one I bought was $100. Second in line would be the Makers, purely from the fact that about every bottle I've had from Makers is plain old solid. 46CS, Wood Finishing, 101, Store pics.....all very solid. Cheers and great video!
I just got my first Weller full proof for 180 out the door. Some people laughed at me, but it's the cheapest I've seen it here in Michigan. Usually when I see it, it's at 250-300, so I jumped on it for 180.
Love love the comments particularly toward the end guys. Anyhow, I have never paid for secondary market. Don't think I will ever want to. I am lucky to started early enough back in the day. Still have lots of unopened bottles of high $ secondary market that I plan to enjoy over years to come. BTW, I am still have that EC C919. I don't remember now but I do like that EC B of 2029 better. Lastly, if I have an offer of Hibiki 21 for $300-400, I would buy it as that is much lower that MSRP in Japan! And it is great stuff....
Out of 100 bottles of nice bourbons (not Old No 7, etc), my worst regret purchase of all is a $300 Wild Turkey Master's Keep Voyage. And that's including a $700 George T Stagg 2022.
Great video!! No reason to tip toe around secondary like some do. We all know it’s a reality, and for some of us it may be the only way to get some products. In the end, it’s a personal choice and who really cares :)
I've broken down and bought 2 bottles on secondary, ECBP c923 and JD12 batch 1 (which I went on to find another at msrp). Looked around to find cheapest, but still secondary.
Fishing is so relaxing. Unplugged from electronics and peaceful
I recently had my first pour of Weller Single Barrel. To me, it was as good if not better than my WLW. Which, is my #1 all time. I would pay secondary for it, just not the crazy $400+. I would do $200-300 no questions asked.
I'ld easily give $125 for another ECBP C923. I really lucked into the one I got at retail.
Only two I got secondary is EC C920 for $130 and 2019 jack Daniels barrel proof rye for $200

Jack definitely worth it, even though the price has dropped significantly. Batch to batch, it's truly amazing.
I got a Cellar Aged at MSRP in our county lottery (for $150). But even here, retail has jumped to $200. I love it, but that's too much for me. The Private Selections and the Wood Finishing series at $75 or $80 are terrific. I'll stick with them.
Good morning fellas!
Impressive on the antique price guess! For some reason, makers mark cellar aged never landed with me :/
Stagg. If I find it under $200 I would buy it. Under $159 I am going to buy it 🤷🏻♂️. Master’s Keep Unforgotten I would overpay if I could find another. I LOVE that bottle.
I was 3 ppl in line away from getting a Weller antique for MSRP at a local Kroger near me 🙃
Listen, I think the secondary pricing bandits are hurting bourbon. Having said that, what I'm willing to pay is subjective. How much do I like it? Have I ever had it? Is it part of a collection that I have? Is it a gift for someone important? Etc.
1:59 "I absolutely do not like to argue," he argued. 😂 3:29 I haven't seen anyone smoking a pipe in decades. But like you, I grew up seeing it on a fairly regular basis. Blanton's Straight From the Barrel is the only Buffalo Trace whisky that's ever impressed me. It's fully as good as the stuff I've paid $60-70 for.

A couple years ago I was filling up my car at the gas station, a puff of smoke floated by from the other side of the pump. I looked over and some dude was puffing away on a pipe.
