Don't punish yourself on the panel spacing. You have to leave space round the outside to avoid wind lifting the panels.

Another great video. I have got the approval from the DNO using the fast track online application! In the application I have chosen Solis 5kw hybrid inverter. After watching your video am being to feeling a little uncomfortable with the minor issues you've mentioned. Are you aware of any better hybrid inverter that does have better management software?

Thank you and thanks for continuing to watch, Please don't take my issues as a reflection overall in terms of the meter. the software on the other hand is fair enough. Victron have supposedly been solid for many others that work with pylontech 48v batteries, I opted to not get victron because the costs were easily 30-50% more.

Thanks for the update, im looking forward to your future videos. Regarding the panel angles, it would have been easier at the design stage to mount the panels on a subframe, hinged onto the pergola roof at the bottom. This would have enabled you to adjust the angle of the panels accordingly.

Indeed it would have, however the ones online looked a bit flimsy or got costly quickly. live and learn.

You could of just had the rear legs of pogoda raised. Meaning whole structure is angled. Could you list where you got roof pv structures from?

I have two choices for placing my inverter and pylontech batteries: 1. small place under the staircase, 2. Small cold room in the back of the house 1mx1m. Which option would be the best?

Depends on cable runs and accessibility, but I would say the cold room would be better for the inverter, downside of the cold room is if the battery gets too cold (close to freezing point) the output and input get limited by the BMS

Nice Vid. Quick question about Solis does it come with Grid CT Clamp as standard or did you have to purchase separate ?

It came with it, the eastron meter plus CT in a separate box but inside the inverter packaging.

Hullo mate, are you still about? I'm taking delivery of a Solis next week and would really appreciate being able to pick your brain (electrician has some questions ;)) Happy to pay a consultancy fee as appropriate :)

Indeed I am, not posted anything for a while as work tends to get in the way of any time for creativity. Fire away any questions here in the comments and I will try my best to answer them. My system has been solid and some of the choices I made with the pergola have since been rectified or worked out for the best, for example the gap on the side closest to the garage where alot of viewers were saying why didn't I put another panel there, turns out It's super easy to clean the garage panels now from a small step ladder vs needing to get a 10 footer out and balance on the far side.
