Our favorite bed-time story teller is BACK !!!! ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽ I still remember the Serie A when it was 18 teams before 2004, and the bottom 4 got relegated. That meant MASSIVE games for midtable teams, as finishing 15th would've relegated them. Ohhh how I miss that football.

Exactly, massive games for mid table teams don't draw any attention now, I was shocked to see a 6 point difference between UEFA Cup spot and relegation 😅
I loved Serie A. I hope they return. I'm fed up with the Premier League
Great content! I was raised watching legends like Maradona, Van Basten, Maldini, and Baggio. The 2006 World Cup in Germany was the highlight of my life. This video reignites my hope for Italian football 🇮🇹💙💙💙💙.
I love calcio. I hope to see the revival of Serie A over the next decade. Forza Serie A, Forza Inter!

@@footballkushespecially the stadium aspect as right now only 5 Italian teams in the whole of the Italian pyramid owns their own stadium and with those owned stadiums the stands are much closer to the pitch allowing for better TV viewing experience as well an improved atmosphere. Also owning their own stadiums has resulted on average 120% or above increase in March day revenue allowing for those clubs to pay better salaries and spend more as a result. Also with the new updates that Inter have the sporting license to build their new stadium in the outskirts of Milan and the same goes for AC and with Roma's last bureaucratic hurdle being completed then by the end of the 2020s three new major clubs will have privately owned stadiums that are 60K or above in capacity. I reckon the 2030s will be a big resurgence for Italian Football in both increased TV deal income and overall prestige being increased and we will very much see them close the gap on the likes of La Liga and the Premier League.
Wow that’s really a good video Kush. Story telling, editing editing. Very good report on Italian football. Ggs

There is a trend with investors now buying Italian clubs. Inter, Ac Milan, Fiorentina, Roma, Venezia, Genua and Parma are all bought by Investors if I heard that right. Teams like Juventus and Lazio will probably too in the next years. Lets see what happens

They also had investors during the 90's Until some went bankrupt. Like AC Parma with Parmalat _(dairy company from Parma)_ for example. During theses days Parma got players like _(Dino)_ Baggio, Cannavaro, Nesta, Buffon or Zola and got coached by Ancelotti, for a brief period. Winning two Europa League _(UEFA-Cup)_ titles and the UEFA Cup Winners Cup. In 2015 the club got founded again under the name FC Parma. Being owned to 99% by the s.c. Krause Group today. The top teams also always had prominent investors. Milan with Berlusconi/Mediasat, Inter with Moratti/Saras and Juve with Agnelli/Fiat. I just loved Serie A!

It seems like we finally might get new stadiums in Italy, as many clubs seem to be building new ones or renovating them.
I wonder how much is affected by the fact little countries speak Italian natively outside of Italy whereas English and Spanish are a lot more prominent
@andjelkozlotvor
Жыл бұрын
Well, a little bit for sure, but that fact didn’t stopped Italian clubs to be the best in 90’s or German clubs like Dortmund and Bayern to play UCL final against each other in 2013. Also, all Serie A games are covered by English-speaking commentators and all their media (official website, youtube channel, instagram, twitter…) are on English language, so I think that’s a minor problem.

@@andjelkozlotvori think the language barrier is a huge reason why many ppl don’t watch serie a. Here in the U.S, Italian football is only covered by paramount+ & they’re commentary is awful. Which obviously makes viewers not want to watch the games. I personally like watching Serie A, but damn the commentary is shit.

@@mgar1999 the bigger barrier is the fact who has the rights to broadcast the games. I think watching serie A abroad is a pain in the butt and that is one of the reasons we make less money than other leagues. I think by making it more accessible we could catch up a lot.
Basically Italian football was the first league in the world to have billionaire owners bankrolling teams with big wages and big transfers. This coincided with the dominant English teams being banned in Europe for 5 years, leading to Italians filling the void and dominating European football. For me the 3 things that lead to the decline of Serie A was the scandals, the Italian economy declining and the Premier League. The Premier League turned football from a million dollar industry into a billion dollar industry. They were getting huge global TV contracts because EPL was the most popular league in the world, but were also attracting some of the richest people in the world to own their clubs. So English clubs began to spend big, making it more expensive for Italian owners to compete. Then you have the declining Italian economy, so these Italian billionaires were not as rich as they were in the 1980s and 1990s and the costs of football where escalating, so Italian clubs could no longer buy the top tier foreign players and most of these Italian billionaires sold their clubs to foreign investors as they could no longer afford to run clubs. What the match fixing scandals did was massively tarnish the Serie A brand along with overt racism to black players leading to Serie A getting much lower TV contract deals than the Premier League, meaning Italian clubs had less money to spend. I don’t buy that Italian teams are back. Many people have come to this conclusion because Italian teams got far in the champions league in 2023. This was the aided by all the Italian teams getting easy draws and all being put on one side of the draw, essentially guaranteeing an Italian finalist. And as no Italian players were in the mid season World Cup, meant they had higher energy levels than teams who had World Cup players. There are still problems that are going to keep Serie A reaching the levels it once had. The Premier League is getting bigger richer every year. Italy not producing enough world classs home grown players, as shown by Italy failing to qualify for two world cups. and TV revenue is still declining.

Hmm depends on how you want Milan's transformation to happen, I like the idea of slow incremental growth. Investcorp probably would've loaded funds and made a disparity between Milan and the rest (possibly) that's just not fun for me. 2022 scudetto is special because of how difficult it was, look at Bayern, 10th straight title, can't be fun!
