WHAT WEEKENDS IN MED SCHOOL LOOK LIKE: Internal Rotation (3rd Year of Medical School Vlog 2017)
I’m currently in my internal medicine rotation and and this video I show what a normal weekend in medical school looks like. Internal Medicine can be tough because two main reason: the range of topics I need to study and the scheduling. On most weeks, I have to be in the hospital 6 days a week. My weekends are usually spent decompressing from the week, cooking meals for the following week and of course getting some studying done as well. I hope you guys enjoyed in this video! Let me know if you guys have any questions about medical school.

I really don't wanna study so I'm just watching motivation videos of people studying loool
im still in highschool but still, your videos are so motivating :) you maintain a healthy lifestyle AND study hard, most people can't even do one of those things
I have a lot of respect for doctors, it's not easy going through medical school. It's requires a lot of hard work and dedication. I'm currently in nurse practitioner school and it's rough too but my training isn't as extensive as your training. However, I've been on some medical forums that bash NPs and vice versa. I think we all need to remember that everyone's role in patient care is important and we are all working towards the same goal - providing the best care as possible for our patients. Good luck to you!
whenever your vlogs start with a coffee, I gives me good vibes
I always always wondered what this life was like. You explain EVERYTHING sooo I just love watching how you balance like grocery shopping and studying with the hospital.
i was literally just re-watching vlogmas and you've uploaded a 16 min long video. truly blessed rn.
please make a video about managing friendships and a relationship while in med school.. if you're comfortable with that
I swear your vids always come up when im procrastinating, time to work! Thanks for the motivation
I'm a high school student and your videos are super inspiring to me. I love them so much!
Just got my med school offer, very excited and happy and makes me enjoy watching these videos even more knowing I'm one step further! Your video's often help with work motivation thank you! x

Could you give me some advice as I am a highschool student, how did you get in? What kind of things did you have to do in your undergrad year, like volunteering and stuff like that.

I'm from the UK so it's different then america (I'm assuming that's where you're from?) but (for uk uni's) basically make sure that you're grades match up to the requirements for which uni you're looking at, look up if they have any other entrance exams that you need to take (ukcat/bmat) and try to score highly in these, volunteering is great for personal statement and interview (anything where you have people contact, children's activities, homes for the elderly etc), we need some sort of work experience (hospital is great, but it's hard to get so if you can't get any, look at other places like special needs schools or carehomes or even a pharmacy/opticians). And make sure you do a lot of extra reading, it doesn't have to be anything too difficult, just make sure you're up to date on health in the news and find some books that interest you. Overall it's just making sure you know your strengths and what the uni's look for (if you've done well in the entrance exam, look for somewhere that scores that highly in the admissions process) and that it's something you're really interested in and enthusiastic about, and if it comes across that you're really passionate and capable to the uni's then they'll love you :) I hope it goes well for you and that some of this is useful, good luck! :)

I've probably say this on everyone of your vlogs, but I just love these and getting to know you more during med school 😊 good luck in internal medicine!
Even though we don't know each other I look up to you and look forward to your posts. I love that you are a woman and showing us your journey and experiences you are going through.💓
you're such an inspiration jaimie. wish you all the luck.
I'm so happy when I see you've posted a video, you are such an inspiration! I'm a pharmacy student and you make me wish I went to med school instead.
Final year med school student here from RUssia ! love your videos ! i am on a journey to do the UK medical exams and decided to VLog my journey and help people on the way ! so i started my channel as well. But its good to see fellow meds students grinding!!! ITs all about that :) keep it up
the colour scheme of your vlogs and the kind of shots you take are just so beautiful
Thank you for sharing your undergrad experience!! I’m a community college student trying to transfer to a four year and I’ve been struggling so much in calculus I felt like I was starting to lose hope. I’m a second year and recently figured out I want to pursue medicine as a career so your story really resonated with me on so many levels. It’s so inspiring to watch you succeed and do so well, especially after hearing that you were in the same boat that I’m in currently!
Hi Jamie I am a nurse. I am enjoying your videos and it helps me also in handling my profession being in medical field. It really helps me how to balance my time at work and working out my passion. I hope you continue doing videos. I took biology course before for my love in medicine but sad to say I wasn't able to push it through because my father ask me to shift to nursing. And now I ended up being a nurse. I shared your videos to my friend who will be pursuing her medicine studies because I know it will be very helpful for her. Thank you Jamie. You're such an inspiration. Congratulations and kudos! Starting next month I was asked by our director to move to male medical unit. I know this will be pretty tough but I know I can do this. Wish me luck Jamie! Bye!
Thank you for your "undergrad struggle" story, my current (sophomore) year has been my worst academically, I was struggling with some changes, but I also realized this year that I wanted to be a physician. I'm still nervous my GPA won't be good enough. Your story is helping me not lose hope 😄
i was obsessed with beast master!! it had me on the edge of my seat the entire series & it's great fitspo! love your videos!
Literally love every single video you uploaded!

I've been interested in being a doctor/surgeon for a while now and I love posting videos too. Seeing you do both is really inspiring to me and makes me happy to see that it's possible to do both and that I don't have to give up youtube to become a doctor:)
Been waiting to see this 💖💖 thank you. you motivate me a lot x
I feel like we're the same person! I also have an interest in either surgery, emergency medicine, or OBGYN. I'm currently an undergraduate and I ran into the exact same situation in which my advisor let me take genetics and I was totally not prepared and ended up getting a C as well. Watching your videos makes me feel like I'm not alone. Thank you for sharing!
I enjoy your videos SO much! Thank you for taking the time to share your journey with us :) P.S. I'm super stoked about there being more light out now too!
Every time I watch one of your videos it makes me jittery excited for med school!
your videos are always soo soothing
Yay new vid!! Love you Jamie!!
Hey jamie, thank you so much for your videos and keep up the good work (in school as well as with your channel)! I'm still trying to get into med school (in Germany) and required to take an entrance exam in order to improve my overall grade, however I'm currently struggling a lot with the preparations and up until now I really felt as of having hit rock bottom, especially since I am extremely uncertain of what's going to come and whether I'll be able to make my dream come true... But your last words were really encouraging and gave me a lot of hope. Thank you so much for that! :)
Those lunch mason jars look really cool and delicious. I'll definitely try them sometime!
Thank you so much for sharing your struggle story from undergrad Jamie!!
Love your videos! Best of luck in med school!
Medicine will seep into every part of your life including weekends and most of your dreams. In the end though it is all worth it when you march into that residency spot. If you need a little boost of motivation this morning Jamie, I just shared our match day letter opening reaction video from yesterday!
thank you for your videos! they motivate me so much! I'm hoping yo get into med school this year in Romania. fingers crossed x 😉
I prepare green smoothies and put them in mason jars for the week--they are so handy! The mini jar is really cute too :)
you are amazing !! I'm studying pharmaceutical chemistry and you inspire me so much
Love your videos. Source of inspiration and motivation for me.
yeayy, i've been waiting one week for this❤
16mins video~~~ im coming :D Thank you Jamie!
I wish your videos be longer😭 Since I'm a medical intern in Panama 🇵🇦 it's very interesting for me to listen that your experience in Med School is similar to mine Our internship is longer (2 years) and it's not part of your residency. That's different! But still the same struggle 😩
Really love your videos! You are extremely motivating and your attitude towards studying is awesome! btw I am a mechanical engineering student from Germany :) Have a nice weekend ;)

Hi Jamie! Could you do a video on your sleeping schedule and maybe how to rest better? I know it sounds weird, but I'm a fourth year Med student and currently struggling to sleep enough hours and function for class everyday.
Love your videos! 💕
How did you find someone to shadow, or what way do you think would be the best way to find someone to shadow? Also when should you start shadowing? High school? Or college? Thank you! Love your videos!!
Hi Jamie, I have been watching your videos on and off and subscribed for a while I enjoy them a lot! I was wondering if you have any tips on dealing with depression or a break up while trying to focus on school work? Thanks!
Hey Jamie, you are a real inspiration! Do you have any tips on taking naps? I have real problems with that, I just can't fall asleep during the day no matter how tired I am :/ Have a great day :)
you are such an inspiration 😍
Jamie, eres admirable. ///
Hi Jamie! I am also a med student-MSI. I am considering making KZread vids about med school with my dog and my concurrent journey with thyroid cancer. I was wondering if you use any special lighting etc (besides camera) and if so, what kind? I love your videos!!!!!
Could you do a video on how you plan your days? Like a planner video?
haha what a coincidence! i went to Maharlika yesterday! the Pork Sisig was great! and the garlic rice too. yummm
I'm a Licensed Nutritionist (soon to be Med Student). Intermittent Fasting (IF) has some long-term side-effects that are unfavorable. The most concerning are increased cortisol levels, muscle loss and exacerbating eating disorders.
as usual great video😃😃
Love your videos!!! Can you do a video on financing medical school? Thanks!
hopefully i get into med school this year:)
Did you enjoy the Filipino restaurant? Greetings for the Philippines!
i need to change my work ethic too. glad i found your channel :)
Hi, my name is Ashly, Im in high school and I was wondering should I take any specific classes since Im planning to go into med school. They are offering me I think anatomy and psychology. Im also taking physics and a pre pharmacy program.
really awesome video ...love from new Zealand
Liked before I even watched it 😂🙌🏻
The struggle is real
New to the channel, so a couple of quick questions.. Which med school do you go to and what are your plans for residency?
you are my inspiration
When you're doing questions from UWorld, or another qbank, Do you annotate to your books? I like doing questions, but sometimes I write the whole answer down lol. I wonder what's your strategy for QBanks, thanks.
So I'm currently working towards my associates in nursing. I need an immediate career to kind of support my plans... Now my question is, is it common to see a nurse who has a BSN and supplements the medical pre-reqs with additional semesters and use that as pre-med?
Love your channel! Can you do some videos on meal prep?

Hey Jamie, you have a very spacious apartment, I want to move to NY but I wanted to know how did you find/searched for a good space like yours? I know that apartments in Brooklyn aren't as tiny as the aparments in NY but it would help a lot if you give me some tips! thanks
Hi Jamie! I feel like I've been lacking motivation lately in my classes. What keeps you going and working hard when the going gets tough?
What camera are you using to film your videos? Quality is superb :)

Hi Jamie! What is the sweatshirt you are wearing? It looks so cozy :)
Did you get into med school on your first attempt?
Hey Jaimie! Which med school do you go to? I'm looking into applying to schools around NYC
Is your apartment in NYC? It is huge!!! I envy that space
Hi there! I have tried to figure out what I'm about to ask you on my own but I couldn't 😅 what is the intro music??? Thanks and keep up the good work.
Hello Jamie may the peace be with all of us!!! So, thanks for the video once again :) I have 40 chapters accumulated. Including nephrology, neonatology, gynecology and obstetrics, epidemiology and surgery. Each week new chapters are added. I feel exhausted and have difficulty organizing my time. HELP PLEASE!!!
where have you been i've missed you sooo much
Do you get paid for your clerkship/internship during 3rd and 4th year med school?
What do you do about your piercings when you go in for work? Do you just take all your piercings that violate the dress code out or is ever place you've worked at different?
How did you know surgery was for you? I've been thinking of becoming a surgeon
Filipino restaurant! Yay! ❤️
I'm new to your channel I was just curious if you have a job as well ? Because it must be super expensive to go to school and live on your own! Like costs of food, housing and everything! :) thanks !
hi there! just wondering, how much time do you manage to spend with your boyfriend in a week? I am doing med too and trying to figure out how to balance my relationships (including friendships) with the workload. thanks!! :)
Hi Jamie, just wondering if you know what med schools think of community college credit? I'm planning to transfer to a university after I'm done wit community college and possibly apply to medical schools eventually - will it disadvantage me to have completed some of my prerequisites at a community college instead of a university and possibly lower my chances of getting into med school?
omg i go to barnard! i had no idea!!
have you ever considered to get a lasik surgery ???? serious question
i am about to start my surgery rotation for 6 weeks what suggestions would u give to get the max. reading done in this short time...please please please some does and donts which u think now u could have done better
I'm not sure if it's okay to ask but is it paid work when you're at the hospital? like how do to make ends meet? or you earn money from youtube videos?
