Father, thank you. Good topic. While watching, I couldn't help but think that, here I am now retired, but for my whole life, from kindergarten to retirement in my 60s, I've been assessed, rated, and evaluated by others. Report cards and GPAs in school. Annual evals at work, with commensurate raises. Groups of employee evals placed into forced bell curves. My point is, I'm tired of being rated, competing, graded, assessed, and analyzed. And then even after I die, I get it again. Now I know what they mean when they say, "Heaven on earth!" Of course I am being facetious, but you have to admit there is a kernel of truth somewhere in there. However, on earth, judges of us are imperfect, and embody everything from politics to degrees of wokeness in their scores of me, you. I hope the real difference is that our Lord is truly the perfect Judge. I'm sure this typed comment I've put here will again be shown to me in the hereafter, and the Lord will say, "We need to talk...."

Relationships with other souls etc. I feel this assessment was more about our relationship with God (which was good and insightful) but lacked any real description of heavenly life (that goes along with our relationship with Jesus and Mary). Do we work? Do we have homes? Are we connected in heaven to those we love on earth? Please consider a video about these questions. Thanks so much.

In my experience in Heaven I was taken to my seat in the choir that I was brought to. After the angel who led me to the choir from an anteroom A giant being with white beard who I know to represent God the Father. He took my hand and I was completely transformed physically intellectually into a child about three years old and three feet tall with an innocent childlike mind. I was led to a seat at the edge of a row after we walked down the steps as in an amphitheater. In front of the throne there was a half inch thick platform and the seat was like a carved simple throne. Angels came and handed God the Father a pair of sandals for my feet, a cape to go around my shoulders over the robe I had received in the reception area. Then completing the clothes a crown that fit my head. Then God the Father touched my chest and my heart moved from inside my chest to the outside like you might see in and image of the Sacred Heart or the Immaculate heart of Mary. At that moment II looked at the assembly and saw that all those in heaven had their heart on the outside of their chest but each persons heart was decorated by unique images that showed the personal devotion that the individual held toward God. Crosses, crowns of thorns, the Eucharist etc.,. I would need to go on there is lots more if your interested.

Thank you for opening up. It surely takes courage to open up about our fears, especially when we speak of God, heaven and the like. What I will personally recommend is having a Catholic spiritual director or spiritual counsellor. I had my own fears, and having a spiritual director really was a tremendous help. Even the saints recommended that. Through the guidance of a spiritual director or counsellor, you may see the root causes of such fears, they may come from your past wounds, from your family experiences, childhood experiences, etc. You can go to a Catholic parish and ask some priests or other staff who are working there, and you may ask if there are some spiritual directors who can help you. Other than that, it will be helpful if we go to Jesus who is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist. I am not sure if you're a Catholic or not, but we believe as Catholics in the real presence, that the Holy Eucharist is not merely a bread, but it is really and truly Jesus who is present under the appearance of bread and wine. You can visit Him in front of the Tabernacle or inside an Adoration Chapel. If you are at home, you can speak to Him through KZread by searching "perpetual Adoration" or "online Adoration", and you have numerous videos that are live where there Jesus, in the Sacrament, is exposed. You can tell Him all your wounds, pains, anxieties, worries, sins, etc. He is merciful and He is waiting for you to come to Him. Also, I will recommend that you ask Him as to why you experience such fears. Keep asking the "why" questions to Him in the state of prayer and silence. In His time, such questions will be addressed. As what the Scripture says, perfect love casts our fear. Perhaps, this is an invitation for you to love Him even more and get to know yourself and God even more. Rest assured of my prayers 🙏

The title baʿal was a synonym in some contexts of the Hebrew adon ("Lord") and adonai ("My Lords") still used as aliases of the Lord of Israel Yahweh. According to some scholars, the early Hebrews did use the names Baʿal ("Lord") and Baʿali ("My Lord") in reference to the Lord of Israel, just as Baʿal farther north designated the Lord of Ugarit or Lebanon. This occurred both directly and as the divine element of some Hebrew theophoric names. However, according to others it is not certain that the name Baal was definitely applied to Yahweh in early Israelite history. The component Baal in proper names is mostly applied to worshippers of Baal, or descendants of the worshippers of Baal. Names including the element Baʿal presumably in reference to Yahweh include the judge Gideon (also known as Jerubaʿal, lit. "The Lord Strives"), Saul's son Eshbaʿal ("The Lord is Great"), and David's son Beeliada ("The Lord Knows"). The name Bealiah ("The Lord is Jah"; "Yahweh is Baʿal") combined the two. However John Day states that as far as the names Eshba’al, Meriba’al, and Beeliada (that is Baaliada), are concerned it is not certain whether they simply allude to the Canaanite god Ba’al, or are intended to equate Yahweh with Ba’al, or have no connection to Ba’al. The word ba'al and its plural form was also used in the Hebrew Bible to refer to any number of local spirit deities worshiped as cult images, and in this context they were each regarded as false gods. Because of this, several demons were derived from Baal, including Bael and Beelzebub. The practice of "passing through fire" (`abar ba-'esh עָבַר בָּאֵשׁ‎) associated with the name Moloch in the citations above also occurs without reference to Moloch in Deuteronomy 18:10-13, 2 Kings 16:3 and 21:6 and Ezekiel 20:26,31 and 23:37. Isaiah 30:33 has the vocalization melek ("king"), but this is widely accepted as an omission of the Masoretic correctors: "For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it." On the other hand, while 1 Kings 11:7 has the vocalization Molek, in "Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon", this is widely accepted as an error for Malkam (Milcom), the specifically Ammonite idol.

In the parable of the prodigal son, the father unconditionally loves the son, but he can still be led astray and stay away from his loving father by his free choice. Fortunately, the son used his freedom to return to his father. Because of God's love, He always invites us to be united with Him. Despite the numerous sins we commit that are so offensive to our Lord, He continously loves us, and even at the hour and moment of our death, He still invites us to be with Him. We are given a sufficient grace to repent and choose Him. Unfortunately, people can use their freedom to reject God. Like the merciful father in the prodigal son, He always desires for us to come back to Him, and He also respects our freedom. True love does not impose, and true love respects our freedom.

To a youth full of energies, it sounded boring, unless the vision was so rapturous that the body was forgotten--sort of an ecstatic stupor. Fr. Pine, your discussion of heaven was unheavenly lacking of detail. What do I concretely do in heaven? I am one with Christ. Wonderful. But that is abstract. What do I do with my body all day long. Do I get to eat my T-bone steaks with a couple of beers--that would have made my younger days "complete". What will the good sister do, fully possessing Christ? Does she go for walks or does she spend the day on her knees praying?

If the latter I think that it may be a grave sin of blasphemy against God/ the things of God. So no It is not the unforgivable sin, as long as your alive you cannot commit that. The unforgivable sin is dying without the Holy Spirit I believe But you must note the three requirements for mortal sin, which are grace matter, full knowledge of the fact it’s an evil act and full consent. Just in case you feel you might be in mortal sin from what you have said. God bless

Lucifer has no original ideas, and as a creature is limited in his ideas; so it is no wonder a lot of what we rightly do to honor the True One God might resemble what Satan fools his followers into doing for him. @@matthiasgrimm8180 I wouldn’t want to say the same “thing.” That would imply that they are conflated without distinction. I think a better way to say it is the human person will experience that which constitutes heaven and that which constitutes the earth as wholly present to the senses and the immaterial powers. Another way to think of it is Heaven would be the immediate abode of the glorified soul. Earth would be the immediate abode of the glorified body. And yet body and soul are United once again in the eschaton. Thus, the glorified faithful will, in a sense, be present in Heaven and on the earth. But even more so, the glorified soul and body will be present in God in such a way as to never be snatched from His Hand again. This is why Paul says we “will be caught up in the clouds.” Yet John says he saw the New Jerusalem “descending.” Both ascent and descent converge. Heaven and earth unified in Christ. So since we will be “consummated” with Him at that time (prior to that consummation it’s possible to fall from God) and in Him contraries are unified (body-soul, male-female, Heaven-earth, the uncreated-created) then He above all will be our abode. “Broke down the dividing wall of enmity in his Flesh.” In short, This is why Christ descended and ascended. To unite contraries in Himself not by destroying their nature but by destroying Law of sin and death, ignorance, malice, concupiscence, etc. that is the enmity between them all. Thus, He unifies all. “You are complete in Him.”

You cant say that you "know" how many marbles are in a jar unless you've counted them. You could say you believe there's a hundred, but until you've counted that's just a statement of opinion. Ie, we spend our lives learning and, hopefully, trying to become closer to God instead of using our knowledge to reject God like the angels who did. In contrast I think it's nice that at least one person (Fr. Pine) specializes in the more technical side of it. I always hear joy in his voice! But it's the analytical side of it, the intellectual clarity, that I think Fr. Pine uniquely adds and I'm thankful to hear. Purgatory is a belief that contradicts the clear teaching in scripture with respect to the person and work of Christ. The belief that souls can pay off sins in the next life before entering heaven is ludicrous to put it mildly. It’s essentially an in between purification of sorts where souls who are not ready for heaven yet go. Do not believe in this doctrine my fellow Christians stay true to the path for what we do in this life and what we believe bares consequences in the next. I don’t think you listened to what Fr. Pine said about purgatory. One doesn’t go there to ‘pay off’ one’s sins, one goes there to get purified from the attachment to sin that they have before they can enter into Heaven or for other circumstances. A common thought is one where if you were to die right now, do you think you would be fully able to walk into Heaven, being as you are now? Wish I knew the chapters and verses but, yes, purgatory (the concept not the name) is mentioned multiple times in the bible. I literally just got back from mass a few hours ago, actually, and the priest was reading from the parable about how to be ready when the master gets home. One servant is ready at the door and did everything they were supposed to and the master was pleased. Thus, they were immediately elevated in position (Heaven). Another servant knew what they needed to do but partied, drank, and beat the other servants. When the master came home, that guy was "severally" punished and cast away (that means Hell) But that *wasn't* the end of Christ's parable. He spoke of two additional servants! One wasn't entirely aware of what tasks they needed to have taken care of, and therefore failed to be ready. But bc they were ignorant of much, they only received a "light beating" (so a little time in purgatory). The final servant mentioned *did* know what they were supposed to do, but they goofed off and didn't get everything completed. When the master got home they weren't prepared, and bc they could have done much better they received a "severe beating" but were not cast away (so a long stay in purgatory) So we have four servants. Only one was entirely cast away. Only one was immediately elevated. It's clear that the other two paths represent neither going straight to Heaven or Hell. They went, rather, to be purified. I also recall a place in the Bible where someone came across the bodies of soldiers and the guy in charge tells the others they must make sacraficial offerings at once for their souls. This was in the Old Testament I believe. Now, if the only two options were that the soldiers had gone to a Paradise or Gehenna, then why would they be offering up anything? Either they wouldn't need it or couldn't use it. Right? But there is a third option. That's why we pray and offer the Holy Sacrafice of the Mass for the holy souls in Purgatory.
