Gosh you guys live in such a beautiful part of the world. Hardly any cars on the road, no people walking on the pedestrian crossings, no children racing around. It’s very serene. We live in Sydney Australia and it’s very busy. Glad you got the Big furniture in. Interesting plans for the kitchen. Love the Tapestry it’s gorgeous well done

Wow! You guys never cease to amaze with what you can do! I’ll say it again… Spend some money on a tall, wide heavy-duty furniture dolly and some heavy-duty rachet straps. Then you’d be able to move heavier things up and down the stairs much easier and save your backs. Please also consider buying furniture sliders. I have a set with plastic on the bottoms for sliding across carpets and a set with felt bottoms for sliding across wood and tile floors. Using this I can move bigger pieces of furniture by myself. The tapestry was an AMAZING find! Whoever priced it has no idea of its value! I hope you’ll be able to find the other tapestries over time! Very nice furniture pieces, too!!! Your kitchen will look spectacular when you’re done! The picture of the room with the red curtain framing the door was gorgeous! I’m a big fan of deep red!

You may not need to cut off the top. The buffet is a good height for kneading bread. The countertops next to this one could be different with marble tops. Oh, I know that you will come up with the best option. This buffet goes so well with the unpainted window. The red tapestry is so fascinating. History is written on the walls in lovely story form.

Before you shorten that buffet, don’t make it too short, your back will thank you. Our dish washer fits under the counter and is even to the sink rim. I hope you understand what I’m saying. Your clothes washer that you used to measure, looks short. And then it may just look that way.

I love the tapestry, I saw one similar in a Charity shop near where I live. At the time I hesitated due to funds being tight.I so wish I had got it. On another note, I am no expert, but I have seen restoration projects for cloth. You can test an Area first,but gently putting bubbles on the surface can lift dirt. There must be something on Google to show how it's done properly. I remember seeing something in a museum being restored with soap bubbles. Maybe detergent for wool or babies would work.

Fabulous purchases. The tapestry is beautiful. Are you planning a seperate dining room? If so maybe the tapestry would fit there if it represents taste. Red is also a traditional colour for dining rooms as it is supposed to stimulate the appetite. Farrow and Ball paints even do a paint called eating room red.❤

Have you thought about putting the washing machine on a pedestal ? Here in the U.S. there are metal pedestals for washers and dryers. That would be easier than cutting the beautiful cabinet.

If you need to add some height to it, you can always attach ball feet to it. Swing by the Cluny medieval museum next time you're in Paris to see the huge tapestries--it was amazing.

I am also trying to put a dishwasher in an antique, but in the U. S., the dishwasher is deeper than the furniture, so I will have to get a deeper marble top. I think they have dishwasher drawers in Europe that are not as deep to the wall.

Ciao, the Mercatino is not a charity shop. The proceeds are for the owners of the goods, less a percentage for the Mercatino of course. You can also bring stuff there to be sold. I do both on regular basis. Good luck with your renovation !

Next time if trying to move large bulky furniture, try using carrying straps. They are heavy duty with handles and do not cost hardly anything at all.

Could this area not be a wet bar for your dining room and entertaining and the kitchen in the larger room up the few steps )where the old kitchen already exists). Seems like you have lots of space that you are not using. Just something to think about.

Guys you really need a moving dolly for transporting your furniture etc down that hill to your home. It’s common sense. I’ve mentioned this a year ago and you still continue to struggle and strain yourselves for nothing and it’s not necessary. It would make your life so much easier to move furniture etc like this or anything else you have that’s heavy. It certainly would help in preventing strain and damage to your body. It pays when you read your comments.💝
