Dude you are one of the few people out there making paint/restoration videos that I trust. As always great video. Even more important, this video made me feel 1000% better about where I am in my project as a noob, a boost I desperately needed. Can't thank you enough.

Let me say Damn that car is beautiful. There are alot of things in this video that I never would've thought of when restoring a car. Not that I have done it but I've wanted to. It's hard for me to imagine 6 years later and you are still going through things. The final product shows your determination and how much you make sure to not half ass anything. Great job. Thank you for sharing your learning process's to save others from the sane headaches.

You have taught me to focus on one panel at a time. While Picks Ups are different, I section one panel into 3's. I will have to seam seal inside and bottom and spray Raptor, followed by quarts of internal yellow waxy from a professional metal pressure pot and several hoses. I just want things to last a long time. I appreciate everything you have covered in your channel. They are epic & important. Learning is everything! DK

Outstanding and honest video. I am working on a 1968 Camaro and just painted the car. I am at the cutting and buffing stage. This video made me feel good about all my bumps in the road and the redo's that I had to make. All your videos helped me throughout my project. In the end, mistakes is part of the process and a learning experience. Thank you Travis.

I've never done a full quarter or repop fenders but every panel I have ever bought took major work to get them to fit. did wheel arches on a 72 Suburban and one of the body lines was just not there at all. outer tail light panels on a 64 Impala were not even close. sometimes it is better to remove the bad panel, repair it and weld it back on. I tell people do not buy a repop panel if you are not going to install it. great video

Solid advice as always! First Gen Camaros are my favorite. Especially the ‘69’s. What I make sure I do for doors; rebuild the hinges regardless because they are so old. My experience has been that there is almost zero deflection on new tight hinges with or without weight-I just finished a 69 and also installed electric motors and heavy speakers. The doors barely glitched and I didn’t expect that. I also drill 1/8” pilot holes in the hinges and insert pop rivets (used as guides only) to take the doors on/off easily when painting to get them back on perfectly. Cheers and thanks for your incredible videos.

100% Back when i did my apprenticeship, Our boss used to make us fit every panel and gap it, including headlights, grille, tail lights, bumpers, badges and new rubbers before we put epoxy on it, simply to avoid any re work. It is critical to getting a good job, and needs to be stressed more.

Love your videos man, I always learn something new so thank you for that. Question, what do you guys do for areas that are hard to get to, like inner structure, where the metal is just surface rusted and not bad at all, but you can't get to it to sand it without removing more sheetmetal. I appreciate it and take care and keep up the AWESOME work and videos!

People need to watch this to understand what a true restoration is. I am interested in the lizard skin sound deadening, how hard is it to remove in the future (10-20 years) when we need to redo the paint?

Fortunately my build didn't need this degree of bodywork and I count my lucky stars. But this should go to show others why its so expensive (paint and body) on these cars especially the fields and barn finds people keep trailing away. You start changing every panel then you better be dang sure you can win the lotto first.

You’re very humble to point out revisions and improvements. Did you reduce the second round of VP 2050 to make it a sealer? Did you use a sealer? If so what did you use? What spray gun for the primer, base and clear? Sub here. Thank you
@SYLVESTERSCUSTOMS
24 күн бұрын
Thank you very much typically on the last prime I will reduce the VP 2050 a slight bit. However, you must take note that the TDS sheet says it cannot be top coated like a traditional sealer. It must be scuffed first. In this case we were using 600 grit.

Did you say you went #280 on final sand before sealing? Just wondering because that's pretty course paper. I personally wet sand with #400 and end with #800 on primer. Never had any sandscrach swelling again
@SYLVESTERSCUSTOMS

We end dry sanding in 220 and I typically end wet sanding in 600
would you know what color primer would do well with a lime green color used for Mopars? I believe it’s Sublime Green back in 1970
