What Was the First Skatepark in America? (Skateboard History)
Фильм және анимация
What was the first skatepark in America? A question that you would assume would have a pretty straightforward answer. However, even after digging and digging for research there is still only so much known about the first skatepark that was ever built. In this video, I take a deep look at the first ever skatepark in America, The Albany Skateboard Centre in Albany, Oregon.
Skateboarding history has always been limited. Since the sport started out as a fad, and for kids, it was often not documented. Therefore, research about certain topics can be limited. I did my best to present the most accurate information I can find. If any information is not correct, please know it was entirely accidental.
Thank you for watching my video!

Thanks, my friend!
Check out the modular fiberglass skate parks that expanded across the US. Including the insane product called skateball. It was a half pipe with a score board and depression disks on the surface. You would put 50 cents in it and 90 seconds would appear on the score board. When the horn sounded you would skate over as many disk as you could when they were lit in 90 seconds for the highest score! One of these parks were in Indpls named Indy Skate Park In my home town in 1979. Run by Keven Macassin. Its A part of our history that should never have been lost! If any one has info about the Skate Ball ramps. I would love to hear from you!
very cool vid, i feel smart after watching it :D
