In the muck and mire by the river's bend, Two souls, Alex and Gail did wend. With eyes keen and hearts aflutter, They sought treasures amongst the clutter Bottles gleamed with stories untold, Marbles rolled, a sight to behold. Beads of colors long since worn, Each find, a memory reborn. Silver winking amidst the grime, Gold and treasure lost in time. With every piece their spirits soared, In the ancient mud, they explored. Gail and Alex, a steadfast pair, In their hands, history they'd bear. For in the river's murky hold, Lies a world of stories yet untold. So let them roam the muddy shore, In search of relics from days of yore. For in their hunt they find delight, In the treasures, hidden from sight. Mudlarking's charm, forever bold, In the tales of Gail and Alex, we are told... Laa Laaaa :)

An idea for pipe bowls, plain or otherwise, is to glue magnets on them and put air plants in them😊
@Northern Mudlarks You two are killing me with that tiny Charlotte! LOL!!! Those feet coming out of the inkwell! ROFL!
We need to see more of your fantastic crafting..... I'm missing it

Hurray another vid . Its been so long. Please be careful of the potholes. Dont want any injuries. Loving your finds. Love you two legends Gail & Alex.
Thank you for adding specialness to my day. My faves are the baby head and the coffe cup. Lovely finds, all. On my Bucket List: Fly from US to Scotland to hang with Gail and Alex and go treasure hunting with you in this old tip. 🤞
Oh no! Alex missed the blue bead by the bullet at 22:39. Great video, ladies!
The old saying "if you love something set it free" is true an inkwell returned to you....the metal with the buildings on it is so cool...I can't stop myself from looking for the little doll amongst the finds it makes us all part of the roundup ....thanks for sharing your time with us...Karl from eastern Canada

Love that metal as well
Hi, as ALEX said you were gifted it for sending the others to his descendant in Canada instead of keeping them yourself, so good things comes those with a loving heart.
I love the ‘reveal’ at the close of your videos. I especially love looking for your little doll! Perhaps you could make a calendar using her in her hidden places amongst your best monthly finds.

I was very happy to see this video this morning! You were missed. Love playing spot the baby Charlotte in you finds at the end 😄 I also love that you found another ink well to keep. Just gorgeous. Thanks again for the adventure.
The moss on the trees & branches looks really cool.
OOOH CONGRATULATIONS, LADIES!!! Beautiful finds as always, but the ink well and the chemist are absolute stunners!
Luv watching how happy all the small finds make you two.
You are very creative with the camerawork. Filming yourselves in the window was a nice touch. Your videos fly by faster than any others I watch.
The red clay broken pottery reminds me of a mouthpiece for a hookah pipe.

I’m up to my hips in mud but look what I found! Don’t fall down I want that thing. True mudlarks.
I love seeing Wee Penny hiding in all of your treasures! So fun!
You are correct! The ridges on the bullet case designate it a training round. Soldiers can use them to safely load and unload rifles.
Charlotte in the paint pan! Perfect little baby bed🥰. Great finds ladies!
Could your mystery find be part of a duck call? The large opening would be the mouth and the end would have a smaller open and a thing in the middle to make the sound of a duck. Love the shrew bead holders, absolutely beautiful. So many cool finds, thank you for sharing your videos and telling the history on some of the things you find, 😊. Good to see y'uns also 😃
I would call the college if it’s still there . If not I would call the city where it’s from. Those buildings are incredible and interesting. All of your treasures are 100 % amazing keep up the wonderful collections ! Have a fantastic week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Love the tiny dolls cup and the inkwell. I've never seen an inkwell like that.😊❤
So good to see you both! You bring joy to our hearts!
Not 2 minutes in and Gail had me laughing….. “Don’t fall down the bank Alex, cos I want that thing” as poor Alex is buried knee high in a mud lark grave ROFPMSL 😂.
Your metal with the buildings on it is probably part of a souvenir tray with Aberdeen landmarks on it. They are usually made of spelter or pot metal and were commonly sold at fairs, etc. In the early 1900s.
Your videos are so well done and I so enjoy going along with you on your adventures! ❤
Those containers are very pretty! The bird looks like a peacock!

The song playing during the finds was so soothing🥰
❤ very pretty that was sweet of her to send those😊
The red colored tube I believe it is a duck call or for goose hunters , the rough end would have a mouth piece on it great episode, love the metal pressing of the university ❤️

Ooh, a book for children!!!!
Enjoyed your latest search among the woods. I wonder if the metal heart might have been ornamentation on horse harness? The red clay cylindrical piece made me think of a woodwind musical instrument. I don’t know if they were ever made of of clay but that was my first thought. Really interesting pieces of history!
A Mudlark trap! Didn’t expect to see Alex in up to her knees! 😂 At least you got a sweet little tea cup. ❤
Great finds today !! ❤️🦘
I love the little dolly peeking out in the round up! 😍
He is the very image of a modern major general.
Absolutely beautiful finds. I loved them all. What a great little spot to mudlark. Thank you both so much xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
Such fun interesting finds! Happy Alec didn't sprain or break anything 🙏 My favorite part of the video though was the two dogs coming to help you dig😂
the struggle was worth it. such a cute little cup. looking forward to seeing your mini-cupboard filled with mini dishes.
Can you make wind chimes from the lens you find it will tinkle in the wind! How pretty it would be with some imagination!❤
Dolly is such a character, love her 😊
The was so much fun! I love the history that you share with us. I enjoy you both so much!
Love, love the little pudding doll romping thru your finds. ❤❤❤
Great haul of finds. Would love to see how you clean up some of your pipes or bottles.
Amazing finds ladies, I think you will exceed your cod marble numbers this year, tfs x Julie
Love the beautiful blue marbled, the old red bead, and the bottle.
I'm so thrilled to see you ladies again, I've missed you and your videos the past couple of weeks, Gail and Alex. I've been going through Northern Mudlarks / Lost Tower Diaries withdrawal symptoms. 😉😃 So glad to get my fix again. Great finds today ladies. Those two inlaid boxes the subscriber from Hawaii sent you are so lovely that they'd have fit right in with any Victorian decor back in that era...perhaps as snuff boxes or some such items. Greetings and good springtime wishes to you lovely ladies from your friend here in eastern North Carolina. ❤❤
That little porcelain doll makes me laugh every time. Great finds❤❤❤
Gail & Alex so great to see you both again! Really missed you 😢! I love watching you both I’m a beach comber and started watching you because of that, I’ve watched loads of different people but you are by far my favourite! Also love your crafting as a fellow crafter I love what you create from the things you find! Now I’m desperate to start mudlarking, I did a bit when I was younger with my Nan, and I’ve got a metal detector but still trying to find out how to use it only had it a few years! Anyway I find you both a great inspiration and hope one day to meet you both in person! Thanks again for sharing your passion ❤xx
Thanks!

Congratulation on your inkwell find. Really enjoying watching you fossick around for great finds, you’ve really excelled yourself this time!
The ferns growing in the trees!!❤
We waited so long but now that i see you I am very happy
I love the way you edit your videos!! You show some of the most interesting aspects of nature! Thankyou!❤❤
Hello, ladies, so good to rummage with you again! I must say, I love your round ups, even more so as you've begun including Charlotte in the shots. How creative you two are! Take care, see you next time.🤗
Wonderful! So good to see you out enjoying the hunt! Congrats on the great finds. 💖
Another nice video. I love how you put the little ceramic doll in all the shots of your finds. So funny.
Nice sharing Vidio...Very inspiring and informative ...Greetings from your friend, a traditional Indonesian gold seeker 🇮🇩💎🙏😍💗👍👍
Wow! A haul!!!! So many wonderful things! ❤
I love how you incorporated the little doll in every take in the end. But most of all I like your choice of music within the video. Thank you to both of you!

What a most successful lark so many great finds , congratulations . Very interesting finds to say the least I love it all . Good luck in the coming year to more great finds Gail and Alex. 💞🧡💛💚💙💜
Another great lark. Love the little pudding doll showing up among your finds. My late husband and I had found a little toy alien figure and used to put him in each others lunch, coffee cups any where to surprise each other. Thank you for bringing back to me a wonderful memory. 😻
I really loved the nature shots starting with the lovely dog in a sweater and the music accompanying it was so beautiful 😊
I love watching your channel ❤ The treasures you have access to finding are so wonderful!
I love the round up at the end of the videos! I play a game of find Dolly! She now has a bathtub! Thumbelina would be jealous!
Love to see mum grow her hair natural, pretty lady🙂
The light through that window is like some strange filter that is always noticeable and correct. These videos are always evolving. A fine haul.
It's amazing how you guys spot the tiniest beads .
I absolutely love watching y'all, it's always nice to see the beautiful weather there. We've already had 70s & 80s in Texas. Love your accent and adventures.
some very nice bit you fund this week , great video alway a good old lark ,
Hi Alex, The bullit round you found was definately not a training blank. Training blanks are the same calibur as normal rounds with the cordite inside, but crimped ends instead of having the projectile in the front. They go bang like a normal round, but there is no bullet in the end to cause damage. Please be careful when angling it, if the percushin cap in the center has a small dent in it then it is safe. If not then take it to your local police station as it could potentially still be live.
We say both "pop" and "soda" in America, depending on where we come from. I say soda. 🙂 Great finds today. And I so much love finding the tiny doll in your roundup pictures, and the little history lessons with all the things.
The fungus on the tree looks rather like King Alfred’s cakes/coal fungus. Great finds, thanks for sharing 😊
I enjoyed watching this very much ❤️ cool finds and good luck for finding lots more treasures this year! See you next time 😊😊😊
Looks like a part of a souvineer tray depicting various sites in Aberdeen! Made for the tourist trade perhaps.
So glad to see you both again on another mudlarking adventure! Grand finds…and stay safe …all the best ladies! 💐
I was in my garden raking, getting it cleared of corn stalks and dead grass and dead weeds from last year, While I was raking, I uncovered a porcelain dolls head. I said out loud....a head! thinking of you girls. I kept it it is in a small glass vase on my window seal. I love watching you dig and so glad I finally found a treasure.

If you believe, you will find it! xx
I bet there’s a desk around in some old building a desk that the inkwell would fit. You two know so much about so many things I love watching you find all those treasures ❤😊
7:46 That looks like King Alfred’s Cakes (King Alfred was said to have given a woman shelter, and in return, she baked him cakes. The story goes that he promised to watch them in the oven for her and then subsequently burnt them while distracted with military issues), Daldinia concentrica, a type of ascomycetous fungus. They should turn very hard and black when aged.
Wonderful finds and outing!! I missed your videos❤❤❤❤❤
Just think it's so cute you put the micro doll everywhere playing wheres waldo
As everyone says it is so relaxing watching these episodes. These places you visit are not overrun with people. I can hear the birds chirping away. You have probably revealed this but who is the singer? It sounds very much like the sweet dulcet tones of Alex’s voice . Not sure .Happy days , stay safe 🙏🏻😉
That terra cotta mystery find might be a “pie bird”. Pie birds are placed in the center of pie to let the steam out and helps to cook the pie thoroughly. There are some really cute versions of pie birds that are actually little black birds with their beaks open, like they are screaming for mom to come feed them.
So glad you both are back! Missed you
Wonderful finds! Thanks for the lark!
Nice little lark ladies!❤

That inkwell reminds me of the ones that were in our school desks in the 60s. probably older than that, of course. Just took me straight back to my childhood.
