I just want to say thank you for putting all the work you do into your content! I am a former HR assistant and I have been a stay at home mom the last five years. Now I'm trying to get into the freelance world and frankly I didn't know where to start. I have been binging your videos the last few weeks and I am truly grateful for the detailed advice you give!!

If we all use the same template, I think this is going to be a problem. Remember this is a numbers game. You may write 50 proposals before you land your first gig, and the more reviews you have the better your chances get. If English isn't your first language then you have a slight disadvantage, however, don't let that imtimitade you, this ia bastadized language that did not exist 1000 years. If your home country is one of those places that is always in the news for the wrong reason, don't worry about that, as there is nothing you can do to change that situation. Just remember that we have certain countries that are completely banned from Upwork due to sanctions. Anyways, I have learnt over the years, not to worry about things that you have no control over, and always give it your best. Watch out for scammers, as I have encountered alot of scam jobs on upwork lately, that target new freelancers. Anyways folks all the best.

You sound very inspiring, upbeat and positive. It’s obvious all of the road blocks you mentioned. However, I believe in God if it’s meant to be it will if not oh well. There’s other freelance avenues but to discourage people because you find that as a treat is not a strategy. I’ll give it a good try and if God wills it there’s nobody going to stop me…👎👎👎👎

English has existed 2ince around 400 AD. To help you with the math, thats 1600 years. So I guess you're right. It did not "exist 1000 years". And that "bastadized" language is beautiful because it has faced challenges, near extinction, has borrowed and annexed, and then took over the world as the dominant language. I gotta stand up for English. No one shits on it for free on my watch.

Deya! What do I do when I feel like I have to many proposals out at once? How do I tell myself that 50 clients aren’t all going to respond yes on the same day?

Instead of submitting text proposal, what if I record a short video covering all his project's brief points and send it as attachment? Can a video proposal have a good impact than a text proposal? Will it be against Upwork terms & Conditions?

The proposal example you mentioned seems generic to me, do you hear about you focused proposals?

@@MyNameIsDeya I think the essence of our proposal should be, how we can help our clients to achieve their business goals. It doesn't matter how many degrees and experience we have because clients don't care. We are a stranger to them and if we do not address their unique needs they will jump to the next proposal. The only thing which matters is how you can help the client. Here are key points I think, we should consider while writing a proposal. 1) Did I read the job post properly? 2) Is this job relevant to me? Is this job perfectly match my Upwork profile? 3) In the first sentence, what should I write? so I could grab the client's attention instantly? 4) Do I have the relevant samples to show the client? 5) Never start your proposal with the I word because you have to be unique and most people start their proposal with the I word. When you address the client's unique requirements and craft the proposal accordingly then he/she will surely feel that you are a competent person and will give the confidence to hire you. I think that should be enough for writing a great proposal.

I think it depends & is a personal preference - I personally don't do it for freelancing gigs but I have seen it on some people's CVs/proposals.

To write "my name..." is a useless thing. Your name is already written by Upwork. "I`d love to be your new...." - there is no sense in these words Clients don't care about this. It would be much better to go straight to the point at the start.

This proposal sounds good but it's too long. No client is going to read all of this when they have 50 other proposals as well. Also, it's not a good idea for everyone to copy the same template. That would be ridiculous and Upwork will slowly look into things and penalize those who have the same proposal template. I've seen it happen to friends on the site. This is a bad idea guys! There is no one-size-fits-all template. It's a numbers game and clients usually work with freelancers that have the skills they're looking for and have short and precise proposals, with a resume, portfolio, and sometimes references.

This is much too long; nobody cares where you worked or for how many years. If you want to include this information, do it in your profile description. The proposal should be short and concise. All that matters is what you can do for the client. Period.
