I'm glad you enjoyed. I'll never forget for my first trip to Paris I scoured the internet for videos and blogs only to arrive with a non-workable wardrobe. I just don't want that to happen to anyone else!
You are so adorable. I was in Paris (3rd time) two months ago. I must not have looked too "touristy" because everywhere I went, locals addressed me in French. How fortunate you are to be living in the great city of light, Paris. Look forward to seeing you enjoying Paris and other parts of Europe. P.S. Re: Birkenstocks I think I watched a video in which the woman said: No Birks in Paris. Go figure. 🤩

Aww. Thanks. And no Birks in Paris? Geez clearly she hasn’t looked at the shoes of the French girlies. A pair of Birkenstocks is essential. They’re sooo comfortable. Best for Montmartre days.
Just returned from Paris. One of my thrillswas Parisian women complimenting MY clothes and jewelry! I wore a Roland Mouret jacket that was very popular, and a gold ear cuff from a woman designer in Seattle that is very unusual and both were admired. Je suis flatté.

I just returned from my first trip to Paris. I saw lots of women wearing denim jackets. LOTS of denim jackets. Parisian women LOVE denim jackets. Also, lots of dainty gold necklaces with pendants.

Hello! I’m going in a week - so you think it will be too hot for a denim jacket? I’m so confused as to what layers to bring: so take trench coats, I was thinking about denim jacket but wasn’t sure if it’s too hot
@judithmarianne

I noticed that too. Denim jacket in spring & leather in winter and late autumn. I think a not too thick trench coat will work, especially since spring weather can still be rather cool in the evening.

@@lapiskatana3637 It’s now super hot!!Currently highs of 86 degrees every day and no AC. At this point, you can bring a denim jacket or a pashmina but you will really only need it if you go into a church or some other holy site. I’m posting a video today on what to wear to Europe now so take a look at that for outfit inspiration.

@@judithmarianne Yeah totally on point re the denim and leather. I find I can wear a trench but only if I have a heavy sweater underneath and it’s padded, otherwise, I’m a little cold in the spring.
You have the MOST accurate video about what Parisians actually wear. I was there thinking of all the videos I watched and I was thinking, gosh they want to make us visit Paris overdressed. 😂 I used my common sense and everything that I brought was perfect ( I just missed my Birkenstock though, I wished I had them).

Oh my gosh. Thank you so much. There is a lot of inaccurate information out there and I’m happy that I can help provide realistic information. I’m sure there are a few Parisians that are super dressed up, but the rest of just want to be comfortable. ☺️

You're very welcome. I also have an update video so make sure you check that out.
You are absolutely right. I spent 10 days in France mainly in Paris the last two weeks in May. I was so cold as I did not bring enough warm clothes as sweaters for layers. I also spent 4 days in London and it was colder there. Like you said it's much colder in the morning and evening but warm in between. I love tge way French women dress there - elegant and comfortable and effortless. They mainly wear fashionable sneakers in both casual and dressy outfits because you walk a lot and you dont want to fall. French women love to wear blazers for warmth, elegance, and comfort. Yes, French women love to wear scarves. They keep you warm and enhance your look. Yes I traveled 2 weeks in Europe in a carry-on and a personal bag. I love Paris. This city is beautiful both day and night and has so much to offer. I did not have the same sentiment in London as I did in Paris - the city of love and lights (and lines as well.) Thank you for your tips.

Bonjour Adriel! I just came back from Paris, we stayed in the 9th Arrondissement and fell in love too! I’m now trying to talk my husband into living there for six months! Great video! I wore tailored shorts with polished tees and short sleeved dresses with scarves tied in my hair and comfortable ballet flats or sneakers. I brought blazers and a denim jacket and had no need for them even at night (June 5-12) btw, love your sweater!

The 9th is such a great area. Hopefully you were by Rue Martyrs, which is my favorite. The temperature completely changed between the end of May and first week of June. It went from being cold, rainy and miserable to sweltering hot. Haha. Good luck convincing the husband - tell him it will be worth it!!

I enjoyed your video, wished I had watched it before I went which was 4 wks ago. I took a trench coat that was my husband's from 30yrs ago and fits me though slightly on the bigger side. Was able to wear it once, otherwise it was hot for the rest of the time. Took 3 pairs of shoes, sneakers, a chunky mule and a slip on sandals but the sneakers were my go-to pair. Stayed for 2 weeks but not long enough to see everything, would do Paris again in a heartbeat. Btw according to your list, my wardrobe was on point 😊. So many of the suggestions about being mugger-proof would be similar to what I learned growing up in New York City. When I go to Paris, I’ll be wearing “travel jewelry,” not the fancy stuff.

Take a look at my updated video on what to wear during March, April, May. I’ll be doing another video on what to wear in June - August.
You're so right about the streets in Rome. I also thought I'd be okay wearing flat sandals in Rome. Those cobbles must be made of iron. I ended up in tears at a Birkenstock store and bought some gold Arizonas. Saved my trip. That was around 2012. It took years for the metallic colors to get to the U.S. Once I returned home, my feet went back to their normal size and I had to give my lovely gold Birkenstocks to a relative with larger feet. Milan is absolutely next level and my favorite place to people watch. When I was in Paris two Novembers ago, most people looked like Americans from any city, except those posing for fashion week. Your advice is terrific.

I love the comfort of Birkenstocks but I never travel with them because they don't stay securely on your feet. When you are going up and downstairs and in and out of trains they aren't that practical. They are also slippery on many smooth (marble, terrazzo etc) surfaces. I prefer two pair of sneakers, one bulkier pair and one streamlined pair. The third pair is always a supportive pair of flats or loafers. I love all your clothing tips for summer. Going to Portugal this September and taking some dresses. Last September/October we were in Italy and it was much hotter than we expected.

As long as you’re smart, you will be fine. Common scams include the clipboard scam, cup scams etc. Basically be on the lookout for women or girls moving in 3s. And just avoid valuables on the metro - I would recommend taking the bus. Just keep your bag close and you’ll be okay.
Hi…I love Paris and yes everyone especially the women are very chic. One question…on really really rainy days do people wear rain boots?
@adrielfelise
Жыл бұрын
Shockingly no. Not really. They may wear ankle rain boots but most people just wear their sneakers and I can’t handle that. I wear my rainboots.
Just git back from Paris. Literally everyone in the spring in Paris is a tourist in the main areas of the city where there are sight seeing sites. So with all due respect wouldn't stress too much about blending in. Just wear what is comfortable and yes, stay vigilant.
@adrielfelise
Жыл бұрын
You know it’s interesting you say that. I used to think that too and then I moved here. It’s amazing the number of locals in the main areas of the city. For example, someone visiting might pay $30 for a ticket to the louvre but if you live here, you can get a subscription to the louvre for a whole year for $50 & then you go as often as you like. Locals are visiting the main areas and tourist sites just as frequently as everyone else. I mean it’s Paris!! :)

Do Parisians wear colorful sneakers?
@adrielfelise
3 ай бұрын
Yes of course!
The thing i noticed immediately in Paris was the minimal makeup worn and the lack of orthodontia...I feel like a little nude gloss is just not enough... Funnily, the natives opt for athletic shoes (the most important part of an outfit...), but eschew work out wear when a cute, flat or mule would be sophisticated. Big, clunky thick soled shoes do not look good on anyone...(I wear them occasionally, but I always feel like a putz! Would you be willing to do some street shots? We want to see actual people walking around, maybe stop them and get a good look at them?
