What to visit in Montenegro: Budva Kotor

Montenegro: Budva and Kotor.
During the weekend, we had the pleasure of visiting Montenegro, a gem on the Adriatic coast. Our base was the vibrant city of Budva, known for its lively atmosphere, stunning beaches, and historic charm.
We arrived in Budva and were immediately captivated by its beauty. Our stay began with a stroll through the Old Town (Stari Grad), where narrow cobblestone streets and ancient stone buildings transported us back in time. We explored historic landmarks such as the Citadel and the Church of Saint Ivan, soaking in the rich cultural heritage. Budva’s beaches, like Mogren and Jaz, offered crystal-clear waters and the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
In the evenings, we enjoyed Budva’s bustling nightlife. The waterfront was alive with restaurants, bars, and cafes, where we savored delicious Montenegrin cuisine and fresh seafood while enjoying the lively ambiance.
One day, we took a scenic drive along the stunning coastline to the city of Kotor, nestled at the end of a fjord-like bay. Kotor's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was a maze of medieval architecture, charming squares, and ancient churches. We climbed the fortress walls for a panoramic view of the bay, a sight that left us in awe.
Our visit to Kotor included exploring the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon and wandering through the Maritime Museum, where we learned about the region's rich maritime history. The city's quaint cafes and shops provided a perfect respite, offering local delicacies and unique souvenirs.
Returning to Budva, we spent our last day enjoying the vibrant beach scene and reflecting on our wonderful experiences. Montenegro's blend of natural beauty, historic charm, and warm hospitality made our long weekend unforgettable. We left with memories of breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and a desire to return and explore even more of this enchanting country.
