agree with everything except for the fabric shower caddy; I just occasionally rinsed out my plastic one and never had problems, I actually feel like the fabric shower caddy is more likely to get mold

Yeah it's the other way around. The fabric will get moldy, plastic cannot grow mold.

Really makes me realize how dependent we are on our materialistic items. This video was very helpful and efficient. I’m packing now :)

I would’ve NEVER thought of stamps! Im going out of state for school and I,d love a video with going out of state advice!

Instead of a steamer, hear me out, I use my hair straightener. I already use it and it does the job quickly when you need it!

i agree, especially with the mattress protector!! I also bought multiple sheets in case the laundry room was busy/i didn’t have time. I also made a college essentials vid and mentioned a lot of the same things :)

@@conniehwood I’m going first in the fall too but I think you should bring sheets depending on how often you do laundry. Like I do laundry pretty often, so I would only have to bring like 2. If you aren’t as proactive in doing laundry then probably bring more sets. But also ur preference!

One thing about the fridge/microwave. My school had an arrangement where you could rent a fridge/microwave combination. My roommate and I both used the microwave but we had a seperate fridge. Also with the fridge, check with the school on dimensions.

I would recommend get one of this Nite Ize Hitch Phone Anchor you just put under your cell phone case and you can clip your house /car key to it along with a lanyard or a wristlet . you can get it from amazon I have seen them at lows also

This was so great and thorough! Only thing I might add is Keurig for tea, coffee,hot chocolate (maybe I missed it. And another blogger mentioned how helpful having a printer in your room is! Early morning/late night printing can save a trip to the library in rain or snow. And back pack water protector if in a rainy/snowy area.

a printer is good but keep in mind that everyone and their mother might be asking you to let them use it

I live off campus and all the things I packed are the following: Cot, blanket, and a pillow Sleeping pad, sleeping bag and inflatable pillow Lightweight tent Mountaineering/Backpacking backpack 75L Lightweight backpacking cooking set and water filtration system My climbing gear Foldable desk and lamp Foldable chair 16 shirts + 5 gym shirts 4 pants 4 shorts + 5 gym shorts 10 socks (wool and synthetic) 10 boxers Speedo and swimming googles Sandals 5 pair of shoes (trail running shoes, hiking boots, leather shoes, running shoes, and skate shoes) Laptop First aid kit and sewing kit Toiletries (bar soap, 2-1 shampoo, razors, shaving cream, dental floss, toothpaste, anti transpirant, and cologne) Power strip and power bank 75 L duffel bag A calculus and diff eq book Note books, 2 mechanical pencils, erasers, and a bunch of pencil leds Lab googles and lab coat A small pot and pan A french press and kettle Large plate, plastic bowl, plastic cup, 1L nalgene bottle, 1L thermo, and a set of eating utencils for 1 person Microfiber body towel and hand towel I believe that's everything I left everything else at home

a mattress topper is all you really need! a new mattress would be hard to bring plus you’d still have the one they provide you with (but make sure they provide you with one)

What brand is your desk lamp?

i feel like this is almost everything you don't need. a lot of the things mentioned are to make your life easier, not necessities for college
