It is about time someone says that ,I get tired of people coming to my channel saying that my engines are out of tune when they hear a 2 stage idle or if my idle is a tic too high as an engine does not have to be perfect to run descent an it is not going to destroy it! Some of my engines are old an have loose & leaky needles an the needles vibrate in or out! Ive been enjoying the hobby many years! I am a 100% with you on that!..😎💯👍

An engine is what you make it

I leave mine fairly rich and leave the idle high but not engaging and then just send it. Don't have to touch it until the weather changes, if at all.

I used to race EP 1/8 EFRA buggys and switched to nitro class, turns out competition engines and fuels barely produce any smoke. The only way I could tune the engine is by temperature (100c+ outside temp) and by revs.

I don’t believe in using temp to tune. Revs(sound) smoke and overall feel is best I think.

Great video mate. I am also looking forward to have a go with my nitro car again but unfortunately I have to wait until temps are getting higher because I have a new engine and I dont want to ruin it😐 hopefully i will see a difference in performance compared to the old force, which wasnt a bad engine after all and started up in winter at 2 degrees without preheating.😅

@@HaggardRC But i have to run it in and i wanna make sure it gets up to temp :) And another point is that I dont wanna freeze for 4-5 hours😕 because here we have snow☺️ P.s. Can you do a full review of the nova B3 with taking it apart? Will there be a video?

Good video try this with my revo and see how she tunes been giving me trouble but got.that fixed to big of a screw on the spur gear let.coming loose and hitting my clutch bell think that's why I was burning up clutches

Can you use the hpi savage to do a full length video on how to tune. Like setting the needles so that the tune is a mile out then show what you did to get the correct tune on the engine.

@HaggardRC no rush matey just when ever you can. I think it would help alpt of people when are new to nitro tuning. Then we can see what the nitro car/truck/buggy is running like when the tuning is all to cock.

Thanks for the video. I’m a newish subscriber to your channel after searching the Kyosho Mp9 a few months ago. I am seriously thinking about getting back into the hobby with a Kyosho mp9 or mp10 readyset and the tuning side puts me off (always has). I thought so long as the smoke was consistent but light in colour rather than think like in your video (thicker) it was good?

Don’t be put off, it’s all about learning. And I like thicker smoke I think it looks good so I run them to make think smoke but as long as there is some smoke and it is from start to stop.

What do I need to do to keep it running? I’ve got a Mac 28. I’ve been trying to get it to run so I can enjoy it. But the thing runs for like 2 minutes and cuts out and when it’s a little warm it cuts out and is hard to start. Motor has done break, in stage but even during break in stage it still has been doing this.Or if I accelerate it just cuts out

Sounds like it’s possibly too rich, lean the high speed a gnats cock and see how it goes.

If its a bit rich doesn't matter...so can i leave it to factory settings after breaking in because im new an i find it still runs ok straight from factory its really rich an i just jot it to idle rite should i still tune the hsn

@@HaggardRC it’s a two speed transmission for a t maxx I think all the stuff is there u can get a instruction paper to assemble it’s not hard if u deside to put it together and u don’t have all the parts just let me know I probably have them that transmission I have the reverse kit in it and I stripped the same gear twice so I eliminated it on my two speed that’s in my truck now eventually I want to send u all the parts to build that engine up the 3.3 r not so bad to rebuild
