She didn't tell you because probably she didn't want you to worry unnecessarily. As the uterus grows the placenta usually goes up. But avoid lifting heavy weights, doing strenuous exercise and intercourse till the placenta goes up which will be revealed in a scan later on.

Yes. Most of the low lying placenta which we find at 5 month scan will go up as the uterus grows and if so, you will have normal delivery. Don't worry.
