Iran's president Ibrahim Raisi has been killed in a helicopter crash. Iran's state TV says Raisi, his foreign minister and others died in a remote region near the border with Azerbaijan. Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has appointed an interim president who must hold elections within the next 50 days. He's also ordered five days of national mourning.

Iran's President is not the head of State. THAT is the Supreme Leader. But the President executes domestic policy, so the new "election" will replace him with another person chosen by the Supreme Leader. The election will be a referendum on the Supreme Leader's choice of candidates.

I would invest in a 4-rotor helicopter and get a pilot Instrument rated with 1000's of hours flight experience flying over mountainous terrain then worry about a new President. It was such good weather to be taking a full load of people in a 2 Rotor helicopter over the very high mountain range. Knowing how high above ground level that mountain range is becomes of the utmost importance when visibility is about 6 inches in front of you. Were the last words the President heard from Mossad, "Do you know who we are, and do you know why we are here?"
