We did this hike - twice! I think it is a good thing that they have a permit system now. I know it makes it inconvenient for people to get to hike there, but the second time we went it was really dangerously overcrowded. So glad we got to do this hike, not once - but twice. So amazing! (NOT for the faint of heart. ;) )

We did Angel's Landing a few years ago before they started the permits and the insane amount of people on the chains made it so much scarier. Trying to get around people with those drops was nuts. Really enjoyed your video. Can't wait to see more.

Really enjoy your videos! I found your channel recently when I was searching for videos of the Kalalau Trial. My wife and I were on Kauai (again) recently and enjoy the first two miles of that trail to the beach. Hoping to make a trip out to Utah to check out Zion National Park soon!

My partner and I did it back in July and the permit system is definitely working. Every person we were on the chains with was awesome. Super patient and very communicative. Know your limits, three points of contact, and take your time.

I Love your video! I visited Zion last September- it was breathtakingly spectacular- I think about it everyday, such a special place. I’m almost 60 years old and have had both knees replaced, so I won’t be hiking Angels landing! But I love seeing pictures and videos from those who have experienced it.

Do you need a permit to get only to the chains begin point ?

No permit needed to Scouts Lookout! Then from there on where the chains start you will need a permit - we highly suggest you apply for the day-before lottery like us!

We tried for 3 days to get the day before permit with no success, in the end went up anyway thinking lets at least go to Scouts Lookout, got there and no-one checking so continued up to Angels Landing, as were most of the other people, so worth a try. That was mid afternoon May 2023.

With the permit system, there are far less people on the trail nowadays! And going in the afternoon definitely helps with having less people :)

Using selfie sticks on a hike like this doesn't sound like a very good idea for you or other hikers nearby if you trip.
